¹¹ They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

⁹ And men were scorched with great heat, and they ^(A)blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; ^(B)and they did not repent ^(C)and give Him glory.

²¹ And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

First Bowl: Loathsome Sores

² So the first went and poured out his bowl ^(A)upon the earth, and a ^[a]foul and ^(B)loathsome sore came upon the men ^(C)who had the mark of the beast and those ^(D)who worshiped his image.

¹³ In the same hour ^(A)there was a great earthquake, ^(B)and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid ^(C)and gave glory to the God of heaven.

²¹ And I gave her time ^(A)to ^[a]repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.

^13 (A)But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

^18 (A)that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. ¹⁹ Then the secret was revealed to Daniel ^(B)in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
