The Harvest of the Earth

¹⁴ Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man.^[a] He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

¹³ As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man^[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.

¹³ And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man.^[a] He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest.

¹⁵ Then another angel came from the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” ¹⁶ So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested.

¹⁷ After that, another angel came from the Temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.

² I looked up and saw a white horse standing there. Its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.

⁹ What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.

²⁷ Then everyone will see the Son of Man^[a] coming on a cloud with power and great glory.^[b]

⁵ But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”
