² who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.^(A)

¹⁷ Then the dragon was angry with the woman and went off to wage war on the rest of her children, those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus.^(A)

⁶ just as the testimony of^[a] Christ has been strengthened among you^(A)—

³⁵ (He who saw this has testified so that you also may believe. His testimony is true, and he knows^[a] that he tells the truth, so that you also may continue^[b] to believe.)^(A)

⁹ When he broke the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered for the word of God and for the testimony they had given;^(A)

¹⁹ Now write what you have seen, what is, and what is to take place after this.

A Vision of Christ

⁹ I, John, your brother who share with you the persecution and the kingdom and the endurance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.^[a](A)

⁷ There are three that testify:^{[a](A) 8} the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree. ⁹ If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son.^{(B) 10} Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God^[b] have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.^{(C) 11} And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

The Word of Life

1 We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life^(A)—

¹⁶ But get up and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you to serve and testify to the things in which you have seen me^[a] and to those in which I will appear to you.^(A)
