³ and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and ^(A)set a seal on him, ^(B)so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Satan Bound 1,000 Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, ^(A)having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not, and ^(A)will ascend out of the bottomless pit and ^(B)go to ^[a]perdition. And those who ^(C)dwell on the earth ^(D)will marvel, ^(E)whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and ^[b]yet is.

^17 (A)Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, ^(B)and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.

⁹ So ^(A)the great dragon was cast out, ^(B)that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, ^(C)who deceives the whole world; ^(D)he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
