¹⁰ Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, ^(A)that you may be tested, and for ^(B)ten days ^(C)you will have tribulation. ^(D)Be faithful ^(E)unto death, and I will give you ^(F)the crown of life.

^12 (A)Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive ^(B)the crown of life, ^(C)which God has promised to those who love him.

^22 (A)and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. ^(B)But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

^10 (A)Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try ^(B)those who dwell on the earth. ^11 (C)I am coming soon. ^(D)Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize ^(E)your crown.

¹⁶ You will be delivered up ^(A)even by parents and brothers^[a] and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. ^17 (B)You will be hated by all for my name's sake. ¹⁸ But ^(C)not a hair of your head will perish. ¹⁹ By your ^(D)endurance you will gain your lives.
