    a haunt^(A) of jackals,
an object of horror and scorn,^(B)
    a place where no one lives.^(C)

⁸ Babylon will suddenly fall^(A) and be broken.
    Wail over her!
Get balm^(B) for her pain;
    perhaps she can be healed.
