Prologue

1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God ^(A)gave him ^(B)to show to his servants^[a] the things that must soon take place. ^(C)He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

^16 (A)“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things ^(B)for the churches. I am ^(C)the root and ^(D)the descendant of David, ^(E)the bright morning star.”

Jesus Is Coming

⁶ And he said to me, ^(A)“These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of ^(B)the spirits of the prophets, ^(C)has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

^12 (A)For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it ^(B)through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

²⁸ but ^(A)there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar ^(B)what will be in the latter days. Your dream and ^(C)the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these: ²⁹ To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, ^(D)and he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be.
