The Beast out of the Sea

13 The dragon^[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea.^(A) It had ten horns and seven heads,^(B) with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.^(C)

³ One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.^(A) The whole world was filled with wonder^(B) and followed the beast.

⁶ The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.^(A)

¹⁴ The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle,^(A) so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time,^(B) out of the serpent’s reach.

³⁴ For forty years^(A)—one year for each of the forty days you explored the land^(B)—you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.’

⁴ “Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the people of Israel upon yourself.^[a] You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. ⁵ I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the people of Israel.

⁶ “After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin^(A) of the people of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.^(B)
