Romans 15:4-9
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.(A) 5 May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus,(B) 6 so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Gospel for Jews and Gentiles Alike
7 Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. 8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of the truth of God in order that he might confirm the promises given to the ancestors(C) 9 and that the gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,
“Therefore I will confess you among the gentiles
and sing praises to your name”;(D)
Romans 15:4-9
New International Version
4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us,(A) so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind(B) toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify(C) the God and Father(D) of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Accept one another,(E) then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. 8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews[a](F) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises(G) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 9 and, moreover, that the Gentiles(H) might glorify God(I) for his mercy. As it is written:
