20 (20:1) Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David. (20:2) Que l'Éternel t'exauce au jour de la détresse, Que le nom du Dieu de Jacob te protège!
2 (20:3) Que du sanctuaire il t'envoie du secours, Que de Sion il te soutienne!
3 (20:4) Qu'il se souvienne de toutes tes offrandes, Et qu'il agrée tes holocaustes! -Pause.
4 (20:5) Qu'il te donne ce que ton coeur désire, Et qu'il accomplisse tous tes desseins!
5 (20:6) Nous nous réjouirons de ton salut, Nous lèverons l'étendard au nom de notre Dieu; L'Éternel exaucera tous tes voeux.
6 (20:7) Je sais déjà que l'Éternel sauve son oint; Il l'exaucera des cieux, de sa sainte demeure, Par le secours puissant de sa droite.
7 (20:8) Ceux-ci s'appuient sur leurs chars, ceux-là sur leurs chevaux; Nous, nous invoquons le nom de l'Éternel, notre Dieu.
8 (20:9) Eux, ils plient, et ils tombent; Nous, nous tenons ferme, et restons debout.
9 (20:10) Éternel, sauve le roi! Qu'il nous exauce, quand nous l'invoquons!

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;(A)
may the name of the God of Jacob(B) protect you.(C)
2 May he send you help(D) from the sanctuary(E)
and grant you support(F) from Zion.(G)
3 May he remember(H) all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.[b](I)
4 May he give you the desire of your heart(J)
and make all your plans succeed.(K)
5 May we shout for joy(L) over your victory
and lift up our banners(M) in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.(N)
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(O)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.(P)
7 Some trust in chariots(Q) and some in horses,(R)
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(S)
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,(T)
but we rise up(U) and stand firm.(V)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us(W) when we call!

20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob [a]defend you;
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
3 May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah
4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And (A)fulfill all your [b]purpose.
5 We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His [c]anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in (B)horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call.
