Psalm 86
Davids förtröstan på Herren i svår nöd
1 En bön av David.
Herre, vänd ditt öra till mig och svara mig,
ty jag är betryckt och fattig.
2 Bevara min själ, ty jag är din.
Du, min Gud, fräls din tjänare
som förtröstar på dig.
3 Var mig nådig, Herre,
ty hela dagen ropar jag till dig.
4 Gläd din tjänares själ,
ty till dig, Herre, lyfter jag min själ.
5 Du, Herre, är god och vill förlåta,
du är stor i nåd mot alla som ropar till dig.
6 Herre, hör min bön,
lyssna till mina böners ljud!
7 Jag ropar till dig på nödens dag,
ty du skall svara mig.
8 Herre, ingen är dig lik bland gudarna,
inga gärningar är som dina.
9 Alla folk som du har gjort
skall komma och tillbe inför dig, Herre,
de skall ära ditt namn.
10 Ty du är stor och du gör under.
Du ensam är Gud.
11 Visa mig, Herre, din väg,
jag vill vandra i din sanning.
Bevara mitt hjärta vid detta enda:
Att jag fruktar ditt namn.
12 Jag vill tacka dig, Herre, min Gud,
av hela mitt hjärta
och ära ditt namn i evighet.
13 Ty din nåd är stor över mig,
du räddar min själ ur dödsrikets djup.
14 Gud, övermodiga människor har rest sig mot mig,
en skara våldsmän står efter mitt liv,
de har inte dig för ögonen.
15 Men du, Herre, är en barmhärtig och nådig Gud,
sen till vrede och stor i nåd och sanning.
16 Vänd dig till mig och visa mig nåd.
Ge din makt åt din tjänare
och fräls din tjänarinnas son!
17 Gör ett tecken med mig, så att det går mig väl.
Låt dem som hatar mig skämmas,
när de ser att du, Herre,
hjälper och tröstar mig.

86 Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Great Is Your Steadfast Love
(A)A Prayer of David.
86 (B)Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am (C)poor and needy.
2 Preserve my life, for I am (D)godly;
save your servant, who (E)trusts in you—you are my God.
3 (F)Be gracious to me, O Lord,
for to you do I cry all the day.
4 Gladden the soul of your servant,
for (G)to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5 For you, O Lord, are good and (H)forgiving,
(I)abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
6 (J)Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
listen to my plea for grace.
7 In (K)the day of my trouble I call upon you,
(L)for you answer me.
8 There is (M)none like you among the gods, O Lord,
(N)nor are there any works like yours.
9 (O)All the nations you have made shall come
and worship before you, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name.
10 For (P)you are great and (Q)do wondrous things;
(R)you alone are God.
11 (S)Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may (T)walk in your truth;
(U)unite my heart to fear your name.
12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,
and I will glorify your name forever.
13 (V)For great is your steadfast love toward me;
you have (W)delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
14 O God, insolent men have (X)risen up against me;
a band of ruthless men seeks my life,
and they do not set you before them.
15 But you, O Lord, are a God (Y)merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
16 (Z)Turn to me and be gracious to me;
give your strength to (AA)your servant,
and save (AB)the son of your maidservant.
17 (AC)Show me a sign of your (AD)favor,
that those who hate me may see and be put to shame
because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
