Psalm 76
Guds dom över sina fiender
1 För sångmästaren, en psalm till stränginstrument, en sång av Asaf.
2 Gud är känd i Juda,
i Israel är hans namn stort.
3 I Salem står hans hydda,
hans boning på Sion.
4 Där bröt han sönder bågens blixtrande pilar,
sköld och svärd, krigets vapen. Sela.
5 Strålande är du,
härligare än berg, rika på byte.
6 Modiga män ligger plundrade,
de sover sin sista sömn,
ingen stridsman kan lyfta sin hand.
7 Genom ditt straffande ord, du Jakobs Gud.
ligger både häst och ryttare i dvala.
8 Du, endast du är värd fruktan.
vem kan bestå inför dig när du är vred?
9 Från himlen låter du din dom höras.
Jorden förskräckes och blir stilla
10 när Gud står upp till doms
för att frälsa alla ödmjuka på jorden. Sela.
11 Människors vrede skall då bli dig till pris,
vad som finns kvar av vrede skall du ikläda dig.
12 Ge löften och infria dem åt Herren, er Gud!
Alla som är omkring honom skall bära fram gåvor åt den fruktansvärde.
13 Han kuvar furstarnas stolta ande,
fruktansvärd är han för kungarna på jorden.

1 God is renowned in Judah;
in Israel his name is great.(A)
2 His tent is in Salem,(B)
his dwelling place in Zion.(C)
3 There he broke the flashing arrows,(D)
the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.[b](E)
4 You are radiant with light,(F)
more majestic than mountains rich with game.
5 The valiant(G) lie plundered,
they sleep their last sleep;(H)
not one of the warriors
can lift his hands.
6 At your rebuke,(I) God of Jacob,
both horse and chariot(J) lie still.
7 It is you alone who are to be feared.(K)
Who can stand(L) before you when you are angry?(M)
8 From heaven you pronounced judgment,
and the land feared(N) and was quiet—
9 when you, God, rose up to judge,(O)
to save all the afflicted(P) of the land.
10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,(Q)
and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.[c]

76 Dios es conocido en Judá;
su nombre es exaltado en Israel.
2 En Salén se halla su santuario;
en Sión está su morada.
3 Allí hizo pedazos las centelleantes flechas,
los escudos, las espadas, las armas de guerra. Selah
4 Estás rodeado de esplendor;
eres más imponente que las montañas eternas.[a]
5 Los valientes yacen ahora despojados;
han caído en el sopor de la muerte.
Ninguno de esos hombres aguerridos
volverá a levantar sus manos.
6 Cuando tú, Dios de Jacob, los reprendiste,
quedaron pasmados jinetes y corceles.
7 Tú, y solo tú, eres temido.
¿Quién puede hacerte frente
cuando se enciende tu enojo?
8 Desde el cielo diste a conocer tu veredicto;
la tierra, temerosa, guardó silencio
9 cuando tú, oh Dios, te levantaste para juzgar,
para salvar a los pobres de la tierra. Selah
10 La furia del hombre se vuelve tu alabanza,
y los que sobrevivan al castigo te harán fiesta.[b]
11 Haced votos al Señor vuestro Dios, y cumplidlos;
