Psalm 29
Herrens ära och makt
1 En psalm av David.
Ge åt Herren, ni Guds söner,
ge åt Herren ära och makt!
2 Ge åt Herren hans namns ära,
tillbed Herren i helig skrud!
3 Herrens röst ljuder över vattnen,
Gud, den härlige, dundrar,
Herren, över de stora vattnen.
4 Herrens röst är mäktig,
Herrens röst är majestätisk.
5 Herrens röst bryter ner cedrarna,
Herren bryter Libanons cedrar i stycken.
6 Han får Libanon och Sirjon[a] att hoppa som kalvar,
som unga vildoxar.
7 Herrens röst klyver luften med flammande eld.
8 Herrens röst kommer öknen att bäva,
Herren kommer Kadesh öken att bäva.
9 Herrens röst får hindarna att föda,
skogarnas klädnad rycker han bort.
I hans himmelska boning förkunnar allting hans ära.
10 Herren satt på sin tron när syndafloden kom,
Herren tronar som konung för evigt.
11 Herren ger makt åt sitt folk,
Herren välsignar sitt folk med frid.

När Herrens röst ljuder
29 Prisa Herren, ni alla änglar! Prisa hans ära och hans kraft!
2 Prisa honom för hans härliga namn! Böj er inför honom och sätt på er högtidskläder.
3 Herrens röst hörs över haven. Gud, den upphöjde, dundrar från skyn.
4 Vad väldig hans röst är, vad stark och majestätisk den är!
5-6 Den knäcker stora träd. Den splittrar Libanons cedrar. Den skakar Libanons och Sirjons berg, så att de hoppar och skuttar som unga kalvar!
7 Herrens röst är en ljungande blixt.
8 Den ljuder genom öknarna och skakar Kades ödemark.
9 Herrens röst fäller de mäktiga ekarna och löven virvlar omkring i luften. I hans tempel ropar alla: Äran, äran tillhör Herren.
10 Redan syndafloden kom på Herrens befallning, och som kung fortsätter han att avslöja sin makt.
11 Han ska ge sitt folk styrka. Han ska välsigna dem med frid.

29 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
10 The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.
11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

1 Ascribe to the Lord,(A) you heavenly beings,(B)
ascribe to the Lord glory(C) and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his[a] holiness.(D)
3 The voice(E) of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory(F) thunders,(G)
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.(H)
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;(I)
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.(J)
6 He makes Lebanon leap(K) like a calf,
Sirion[b](L) like a young wild ox.(M)
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.(N)
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.(O)
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c](P)
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”(Q)

3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;

Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.

7 The voice of the Lord [e]divides the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the Wilderness of (G)Kadesh.

And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”
10 The (I)Lord sat enthroned at the Flood,
