26 Avvisa alla anklagelser mot mig, Herre, för jag har försökt att hålla dina bud och har litat på dig utan att vackla!
2 Sätt mig på prov, Herre, och se efter att det verkligen förhåller sig så! Pröva också mina motiv och egenskaper,
3 för jag har haft din kärlek och din sanning som förebilder!
4 Jag undviker människor som bedrar andra och som lever ett dubbelliv. De är falska och hycklande.
5 Jag avskyr syndarnas sammankomster och vägrar att gå dit.
6 Jag tvättar mina händer för att bevisa att jag är oskyldig och kommer så inför ditt altare.
7 Där sjunger jag en sång i tacksamhet över dina under.
8 Herre, jag älskar ditt hus, detta vackra tempel som är fyllt av din makt och härlighet.
9-10 Behandla mig inte som en vanlig syndare eller mördare som smider onda planer mot de oskyldiga och kräver mutor!
11 Nej, jag är inte en sådan människa, Herre. Jag strävar att göra det rätta. Rädda mig och var barmhärtig!
12 Öppet och frimodigt prisar jag dig, Herre, för du ser till att jag inte snavar eller faller.

26 Av David. Skaffa mig rätt, HERRE, ty jag vandrar i ostrafflighet, och jag förtröstar på HERREN utan att vackla.
2 Pröva mig, HERRE, och försök mig; rannsaka mina njurar och mitt hjärta.
3 Ty din nåd är inför mina ögon, och jag vandrar i din sanning.
4 Jag sitter icke hos lögnens män, och med hycklare har jag icke min umgängelse.
5 Jag hatar de ondas församling, och hos de ogudaktiga sitter jag icke.
6 Jag tvår mina händer i oskuld, och kring ditt altare, HERRE, vill jag vandra,
7 för att höja min röst till tacksägelse och förtälja alla dina under.
8 HERRE, jag har din boning kär och den plats där din härlighet bor.
9 Ryck icke min själ bort med syndare, icke mitt liv med de blodgiriga,
10 i vilkas händer är skändlighet, och vilkas högra hand är full av mutor.
11 Jag vandrar ju i ostrafflighet; förlossa mig och var mig nådig.
12 Ja, min fot står på jämn mark; i församlingarna skall jag lova HERREN.

for I have led a blameless life;(B)

2 Test me,(E) Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;(F)
3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love(G)
and have lived(H) in reliance on your faithfulness.(I)
4 I do not sit(J) with the deceitful,
nor do I associate with hypocrites.(K)
5 I abhor(L) the assembly of evildoers
and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands in innocence,(M)
and go about your altar, Lord,
7 proclaiming aloud your praise(N)
and telling of all your wonderful deeds.(O)

26 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:
7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
