Herrens storhet och godhet
145 [a][b]En lovsång av David.
Jag vill upphöja dig,
min Gud och kung,
och lova ditt namn
för alltid och för evigt.
2 Jag vill lova dig varje dag
och prisa ditt namn
för alltid och för evigt.
3 [c]Stor är Herren och högt prisad,
hans storhet är ofattbar.
4 [d]Släkte efter släkte prisar dina verk
och förkunnar dina väldiga
gärningar.
5 [e]Ditt majestäts härlighet och ära
och dina underbara verk
vill jag begrunda.
6 Dina väldiga gärningars makt
ska man tala om,
och din storhet ska jag förkunna.
7 Man ska ropa ut ryktet
om din stora godhet
och jubla över din rättfärdighet.
8 [f]Herren är nådig och barmhärtig,
sen till vrede och stor i nåd.
9 Herren är god mot alla
och förbarmar sig
över alla sina verk.
10 Herre, alla dina verk ska tacka dig
och dina trogna ska lova dig.
11 De ska tala om ditt rikes ära
och förkunna din makt,
12 så att människors barn lär känna
dina mäktiga gärningar
och ditt rikes ära och härlighet.
13a Ditt rike är ett rike för alla evigheter,
ditt välde består från släkte till släkte.
13b Herren är trofast i allt han säger
och kärleksfull i allt han gör.[g]
14 Herren stöder alla som vacklar
och reser upp alla nerböjda.
15 [h]Allas ögon hoppas på dig,
och du ger dem deras mat
i rätt tid.
16 [i]Du öppnar din hand
och mättar allt levande med nåd.
17 Herren är rättfärdig
i alla sina vägar
och nådig i allt han gör.
18 [j]Herren är nära
alla som ropar till honom,
alla som ropar till honom
i sanning.
19 [k]Han gör vad de gudfruktiga begär,
han hör deras rop och frälser dem.
20 Herren bevarar
alla som älskar honom,
men alla gudlösa ska han förgöra.
21 Min mun ska förkunna Herrens lov,
och allt som lever
ska lova hans heliga namn
för alltid och för evigt.

Praise to God the King
A song of praise. Of David.
145 I praise your greatness, my God the King.
I will praise you forever and ever.
2 I will praise you every day.
I will praise you forever and ever.
3 The Lord is great. He is worthy of our praise.
No one can understand how great he is.
4 Parents will tell their children what you have done.
They will retell your mighty acts,
5 wonderful majesty and glory.
And I will think about your miracles.
6 They will tell about the amazing things you do.
I will tell how great you are.
7 They will remember your great goodness.
They will sing about your fairness.
8 The Lord is kind and shows mercy.
He does not become angry quickly but is full of love.
9 The Lord is good to everyone.
He is merciful to all he has made.
10 Lord, everything you have made will praise you.
Those who belong to you will bless you.
11 They will tell about the glory of your kingdom.
They will speak about your power.
12 Then everyone will know what powerful things you do.
They will know about the glory and majesty of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom will continue forever.
And you will be King from now on.
The Lord will keep his promises.
With love he takes care of all he has made.
14 The Lord helps those who have been defeated.
He takes care of those who are in trouble.
15 All living things look to you for food.
And you give it to them at the right time.
16 You open your hand,
and you satisfy all living things.
17 Everything the Lord does is right.
With love he takes care of all he has made.
18 The Lord is close to everyone who prays to him,
to all who truly pray to him.
19 He gives those who fear him what they want.
He listens when they cry, and he saves them.
20 The Lord protects everyone who loves him.
But he will destroy the wicked.
21 I will praise the Lord.
Let everyone praise his holy name forever.

A psalm of praise. Of David.
1 I will exalt you,(A) my God the King;(B)
I will praise your name(C) for ever and ever.
2 Every day I will praise(D) you
and extol your name(E) for ever and ever.
3 Great(F) is the Lord and most worthy of praise;(G)
his greatness no one can fathom.(H)
4 One generation(I) commends your works to another;
they tell(J) of your mighty acts.(K)
5 They speak of the glorious splendor(L) of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.[b](M)
6 They tell(N) of the power of your awesome works—(O)
and I will proclaim(P) your great deeds.(Q)
7 They celebrate your abundant goodness(R)
and joyfully sing(S) of your righteousness.(T)
9 The Lord is good(W) to all;
he has compassion(X) on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you,(Y) Lord;
your faithful people extol(Z) you.(AA)
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom(AB)
and speak of your might,(AC)
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts(AD)

15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food(AL) at the proper time.
16 You open your hand

17 The Lord is righteous(AN) in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.(AO)
18 The Lord is near(AP) to all who call on him,(AQ)
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desires(AR) of those who fear him;(AS)
he hears their cry(AT) and saves them.(AU)
20 The Lord watches over(AV) all who love him,(AW)
but all the wicked he will destroy.(AX)
