Psalm 113
Herrens omsorg om den ringe
1 Halleluja!
Prisa, ni Herrens tjänare,
prisa Herrens namn!
2 Välsignat vare Herrens namn
från nu och till evig tid!
3 Från solens uppgång ända till dess nedgång
skall Herrens namn bli prisat.
4 Herren är upphöjd över alla folk,
till himlen når hans ära.
5 Vem är som Herren, vår Gud,
han som tronar så högt,
6 han som ser ner så djupt,
vem i himlen och på jorden?
7 Han som reser upp den ringe ur stoftet
och lyfter den fattige ur dyn
8 för att sätta honom bland furstar,
sitt folks furstar,
9 han som låter en ofruktsam kvinna bo i huset
som en lycklig mor, omgiven av barn.

113 Halleluja!
Prisa Herren, ni hans tjänare,
prisa Herrens namn!
2 Välsignat är Herrens namn
nu och för evigt.
3 Herrens namn ska prisas
från öster till väster.[a]
4 Herren är upphöjd över alla folk.
Hans ära når högre än himlen.
5 Vem är lik Herren, vår Gud,
som sitter på sin tron i höjden,
6 som böjer sig ner och ser så djupt –
vem i himlen, vem på jorden?
7 Den fattige drar han upp ur stoftet,
och den nödställde ur askhögen
8 och sätter honom bland furstar,
bland sitt folks furstar.
9 Han låter den barnlösa hustrun få ett hem
som en lycklig mor till barnen.

- 113:3 Ordagrant: …från soluppgång till solnedgång, vilket var dåtida sätt att uttrycka öster och väster, som i sin tur betydde hela jorden. Jfr v. 2 där man uppmanas till lovprisning nu och för evigt, alltså ska Herren prisas alltid och överallt. V. 3 kan dock också tolkas som parallell till v. 2 och i så fall syfta på lovprisning från morgon (soluppgång) till kväll (solnedgång), alltså hela dagen.

Psalm 113
Praise the Lord, you his servants;(B)
praise the name of the Lord.
2 Let the name of the Lord be praised,(C)
both now and forevermore.(D)
3 From the rising of the sun(E) to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is exalted(F) over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.(G)
5 Who is like the Lord our God,(H)
the One who sits enthroned(I) on high,(J)
6 who stoops down to look(K)
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor(L) from the dust
and lifts the needy(M) from the ash heap;
8 he seats them(N) with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless(O) woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.

Invitation to Praise
1 Praise the Lord.[a]
Praise, you servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord.
2 Let the name of the Lord be blessed, from now to eternity.
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Basis for Praise
4 High above all the nations is the Lord.
His glory towers above the heavens.
5 Who is like the Lord our God?
He is seated on high.
6 He bends down to look at the heavens and at the earth.
7 He raises the poor from the dust.
He lifts the needy from the garbage pile
8 to seat them with nobles,
with the nobles of his people.
9 He is the one who settles the barren woman in her home
as a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
