Psalm 107
De återlöstas tacksamhet
1 Tacka Herren, ty han är god,
ty hans nåd varar i evighet.
2 Så säger Herrens återlösta,
de som han har återlöst från fiendens hand,
3 de som han har församlat från länderna,
från öster och väster,
från norr och söder.[a]
4 De irrade omkring i öknen på öde stigar,
de fann ingen plats där de kunde bo.
5 De var hungriga och törstiga,
deras liv tynade bort.
6 Men de ropade till Herren i sin nöd
och han räddade dem ur deras trångmål.
7 Han ledde dem på den rätta vägen,
så att de kom till en stad där de kunde bo.
8 Må de tacka Herren för hans nåd,
för hans underbara gärningar mot människors barn,
9 ty han stillade själens törst
och mättade själens hunger med sitt goda.
10 De satt i mörker och dödsskugga,
fångna i elände och järnbojor,
11 ty de hade varit upproriska mot Guds ord
och föraktat den Högstes råd.
12 Han ödmjukade deras hjärtan genom lidande,
de kom på fall och hade ingen hjälpare.
13 Men de ropade till Herren i sin nöd
och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål.
14 Han förde dem ut ur mörker och dödsskugga,
han slet sönder deras bojor.
15 Må de tacka Herren för hans nåd,
för hans underbara gärningar mot människors barn,
16 ty han krossade kopparportar
och bröt sönder järnbommar.
17 De var dåraktiga och blev plågade
för sin upproriskhet och synd.
18 De kände avsky för all mat
och var nära dödens portar.
19 Men de ropade till Herren i sin nöd,
och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål.
20 Han sände sitt ord och botade dem
och räddade dem från undergång.
21 Må de tacka Herren för hans nåd,
för hans underbara gärningar mot människors barn.
22 Må de offra lovets offer
och förkunna hans verk med jubel.
23 De som for ut på havet med skepp
och drev handel på stora vatten,
24 de såg Herrens gärningar
och hans under i havets djup.
25 Han talade, och en stormvind uppstod
så att havets vågor gick höga.
26 De for upp mot himlen
och ner i djupen,
så att de miste modet i sin olycka.
27 De raglade och stapplade som druckna,
det var förbi med all deras vishet.
28 Men de ropade till Herren i sin nöd
och han förde dem ut ur deras trångmål.
29 Han stillade stormen
och böljorna omkring dem tystnade.
30 De gladdes över att det blev stilla,
och han förde dem till den hamn dit de ville.
31 Må de tacka Herren för hans nåd,
för hans underbara gärningar mot människors barn,
32 må de upphöja honom i folkets församling
och prisa honom där de äldste sitter.
33 Han gjorde strömmar till öken,
källsprång till torr mark
34 och bördigt land till salthed
för dess invånares ondskas skull.
35 Han gjorde öknen till en vattenrik sjö
och torrt land till källsprång.
36 Han lät de hungriga slå sig ner där
och bygga en stad där de kunde bo.
37 De besådde åkrar
och planterade vingårdar
som gav riklig skörd.
38 Han välsignade dem,
och de blev mycket talrika.
Han lät ej deras boskap minska i antal.
39 När de blev färre
och tyngdes av förtryck, olyckor och bekymmer,
40 utgöt han förakt över furstarna
och lät dem irra omkring
i en ödemark utan vägar.
41 Han upphöjde den fattige ur eländet
och förökade deras familjer som hjordar.
42 De rättrådiga ser det och gläder sig,
och all ondska måste tiga.
43 Den som är vis må lägga märke till detta
och tänka på Herrens nådegärningar.

2 Så säge HERRENS förlossade, de som han har förlossat ur nöden,
3 de som han har församlat ifrån länderna, från öster och från väster, från norr och från havssidan.
4 De irrade omkring i öknen på öde stigar, de funno ingen stad där de kunde bo;
5 de hungrade och törstade, deras själ försmäktade i dem.
6 Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han räddade dem ur deras trångmål.
7 Och han ledde dem på en rätt väg, så att de kommo till en stad där de kunde bo.

9 att han mättade den försmäktande själen och uppfyllde den hungrande själen med sitt goda.
10 De sutto i mörker och dödsskugga, fångna i elände och järnbojor,
11 därför att de hade varit gensträviga mot Guds ord och hade föraktat den Högstes råd.
12 Han kuvade deras hjärtan med olycka; de kommo på fall och hade ingen hjälpare.
13 Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål;
14 han förde dem ut ur mörkret och dödsskuggan, och deras bojor slet han sönder.
15 De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn,
16 att han krossade kopparportarna och bröt sönder järnbommarna.
17 De voro oförnuftiga, ty de vandrade i överträdelse, och blevo nu plågade för sina missgärningars skull;
18 deras själ vämjdes vid all mat, och de voro nära dödens portar.
19 Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål.
20 Han sände sitt ord och botade dem och räddade dem från graven.
21 De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn;
22 de må offra lovets offer och förtälja hans verk med jubel.
23 De foro på havet med skepp och drevo sin handel på stora vatten;
24 där fingo de se HERRENS gärningar och hans under på havsdjupet.
25 Med sitt ord uppväckte han stormvinden, så att den hävde upp dess böljor.
26 De foro upp mot himmelen, ned i djupen; deras själ upplöstes av ångest.
27 De raglade och stapplade såsom druckna, och all deras vishet blev till intet.
28 Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han förde dem ut ur deras trångmål.
29 Han förbytte stormen i lugn, så att böljorna omkring dem tystnade.
30 Och de blevo glada att det vart stilla, och han förde dem till den hamn dit de ville.
31 De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn;
32 de må upphöja honom i folkets församling och lova honom där de äldste sitta.
33 Han gjorde strömmar till öken, källsprång till torr mark,
34 bördigt land till salthed, för dess inbyggares ondskas skull.
35 Han gjorde öknen till en vattenrik sjö och torrt land till källsprång.
36 Och han lät de hungrande bo där, och de byggde en stad där de kunde bo.
37 De besådde åkrar och planterade vingårdar, som gåvo dem sin frukt i avkastning.
38 Han välsignade dem, och de förökades storligen, och deras boskapshjordar lät han icke förminskas.
39 Väl blevo de sedan ringa och nedböjda, i det olycka och bedrövelse tryckte dem,
40 men han som utgjuter förakt över furstar och låter dem irra omkring i väglösa ödemarker,
41 han upphöjde då den fattige ur eländet och lät släkterna växa till såsom fårhjordar.
42 De redliga se det och glädja sig, och all orättfärdighet måste tillsluta sin mun.
43 Den som är vis, han akte härpå och besinne HERRENS nådegärningar.

Thanksgiving to the Lord for His Great Works of Deliverance
107 Oh, (A)give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His [a]mercy endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
3 And (B)gathered out of the lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south.
4 They wandered in (C)the wilderness in a desolate way;
They found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty,
Their soul fainted in them.
6 (D)Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And He led them forth by the (E)right way,
That they might go to a city for a dwelling place.
8 (F)Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For (G)He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness.
10 Those who (H)sat in darkness and in the shadow of death,
(I)Bound[b] in affliction and irons—
11 Because they (J)rebelled against the words of God,
And [c]despised (K)the counsel of the Most High,
12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labor;
They fell down, and there was (L)none to help.
13 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses.
14 (M)He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,
And broke their chains in pieces.
15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
16 For He has (N)broken the gates of bronze,
And cut the bars of iron in two.
17 Fools, (O)because of their transgression,
And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
18 (P)Their soul abhorred all manner of food,
And they (Q)drew near to the gates of death.
19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses.
20 (R)He sent His word and (S)healed them,
And (T)delivered them from their destructions.
21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
22 (U)Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And (V)declare His works with [d]rejoicing.
23 Those who go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters,
24 They see the works of the Lord,
And His wonders in the deep.
25 For He commands and (W)raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
26 They mount up to the heavens,
They go down again to the depths;
(X)Their soul melts because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
And [e]are at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brings them out of their distresses.
29 (Y)He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still.
30 Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.
31 (Z)Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt Him also (AA)in the assembly of the people,
And praise Him in the company of the elders.
33 He (AB)turns rivers into a wilderness,
And the watersprings into dry ground;
34 A (AC)fruitful land into [f]barrenness,
For the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
35 (AD)He turns a wilderness into pools of water,
And dry land into watersprings.
36 There He makes the hungry dwell,
That they may establish a city for a dwelling place,
37 And sow fields and plant vineyards,
That they may yield a fruitful harvest.
38 (AE)He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly;
And He does not let their cattle (AF)decrease.
39 When they are (AG)diminished and brought low
Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow,
40 (AH)He pours contempt on princes,
And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;
41 (AI)Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction,
And (AJ)makes their families like a flock.
42 (AK)The righteous see it and rejoice,
And all (AL)iniquity stops its mouth.
43 (AM)Whoever is wise will observe these things,
And they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Contem a todos que ele os resgatou de seus inimigos.
3 Pois ele reuniu os que estavam exilados em muitas terras,
do leste e do oeste,
do norte e do sul.[a]
4 Eles vagavam pelo deserto,
perdidos e sem lar.
5 Famintos e sedentos,
chegaram à beira da morte.
6 Em sua aflição, clamaram ao Senhor,
e ele os livrou de seus sofrimentos.
7 Conduziu-os por um caminho seguro,
a uma cidade onde pudessem morar.
8 Que louvem o Senhor por seu grande amor
e pelas maravilhas que fez pela humanidade.
9 Pois ele sacia o sedento
e enche de coisas boas o faminto.
10 Estavam sentados na escuridão e em trevas profundas,
presos com as algemas de ferro do sofrimento.
11 Rebelaram-se contra as palavras de Deus
e desprezaram o conselho do Altíssimo.
12 Por isso ele os sujeitou a trabalhos pesados;
caíram, e não houve quem os ajudasse.
13 Em sua aflição, clamaram ao Senhor,
e ele os livrou de seus sofrimentos.
14 Tirou-os da escuridão e das trevas profundas
e quebrou suas algemas.
15 Que louvem o Senhor por seu grande amor
e pelas maravilhas que fez pela humanidade.
16 Pois ele quebrou as portas de bronze da prisão
e partiu as trancas de ferro.
17 Foram tolos;
rebelaram-se e sofreram por causa de seus pecados.
18 Não conseguiam nem pensar em comer
e estavam às portas da morte.
19 Em sua aflição, clamaram ao Senhor,
e ele os livrou de seus sofrimentos.
20 Enviou sua palavra e os curou,
e os resgatou da morte.
21 Que louvem o Senhor por seu grande amor
e pelas maravilhas que fez pela humanidade.
22 Que ofereçam sacrifícios de ações de graças
e anunciem suas obras com canções alegres.
23 Viajaram pelo mundo em navios;
percorreram as rotas comerciais dos mares.
24 Também eles viram as obras do Senhor
e suas maravilhas nas águas mais profundas.
25 Por sua ordem, os ventos se levantaram
e agitaram as ondas.
26 Seus navios eram lançados aos céus,
depois desciam às profundezas;
foram tomados de pavor.
27 Cambaleavam e tropeçavam, como bêbados,
e não sabiam mais o que fazer.
28 Em sua aflição, clamaram ao Senhor,
e ele os livrou de seus sofrimentos.
29 Acalmou a tempestade
e aquietou as ondas.
30 A calmaria os alegrou,
e ele os levou ao porto em segurança.
31 Que louvem o Senhor por sua bondade
e pelas maravilhas que fez pela humanidade.
32 Que o exaltem em público,
diante da comunidade e dos líderes do povo.
33 Ele transforma rios em desertos,
e fontes de água em terra seca.
34 Torna a terra fértil em solo inútil,
por causa da perversidade de seus habitantes.
35 Também transforma os desertos em açudes
e a terra seca em fontes de água.
36 Leva os famintos para ali se estabelecerem
e construírem suas cidades.
37 Eles semeiam campos, plantam videiras
e têm grandes colheitas.
38 Sim, ele os abençoa!
Ali, criam famílias numerosas,
e seus rebanhos não param de crescer.
39 Mas, quando diminuem em número e empobrecem
por causa da opressão, da miséria e da tristeza,
40 o Senhor lança desprezo sobre seus príncipes
e os faz vagar num deserto sem caminhos.
41 Contudo, livra do sofrimento os pobres
e aumenta suas famílias como rebanhos de ovelhas.
42 Os justos verão essas coisas e se alegrarão,
enquanto os perversos serão calados.
43 Quem é sábio levará tudo isso a sério;
perceberá como tem sido leal o amor do Senhor.

107 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures for ever!
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble
3 and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.
4 Some wandered in desert wastes,
finding no way to a city to dwell in;
5 hungry and thirsty,
their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress;
7 he led them by a straight way,
till they reached a city to dwell in.
8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
9 For he satisfies him who is thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things.
10 Some sat in darkness and in gloom,
prisoners in affliction and in irons,
11 for they had rebelled against the words of God,
and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
12 Their hearts were bowed down with hard labor;
they fell down, with none to help.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress;
14 he brought them out of darkness and gloom,
and broke their bonds asunder.
15 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
16 For he shatters the doors of bronze,
and cuts in two the bars of iron.
17 Some were sick[a] through their sinful ways,
and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
18 they loathed any kind of food,
and they drew near to the gates of death.
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress;
20 he sent forth his word, and healed them,
and delivered them from destruction.
21 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving,
and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!
23 Some went down to the sea in ships,
doing business on the great waters;
24 they saw the deeds of the Lord,
his wondrous works in the deep.
25 For he commanded, and raised the stormy wind,
which lifted up the waves of the sea.
26 They mounted up to heaven, they went down to the depths;
their courage melted away in their evil plight;
27 they reeled and staggered like drunken men,
and were at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress;
29 he made the storm be still,
and the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 Then they were glad because they had quiet,
and he brought them to their desired haven.
31 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
32 Let them extol him in the congregation of the people,
and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
33 He turns rivers into a desert,
springs of water into thirsty ground,
34 a fruitful land into a salty waste,
because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.
35 He turns a desert into pools of water,
a parched land into springs of water.
36 And there he lets the hungry dwell,
and they establish a city to live in;
37 they sow fields, and plant vineyards,
and get a fruitful yield.
38 By his blessing they multiply greatly;
and he does not let their cattle decrease.
39 When they are diminished and brought low
through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,
40 he pours contempt upon princes
and makes them wander in trackless wastes;
41 but he raises up the needy out of affliction,
and makes their families like flocks.
42 The upright see it and are glad;
and all wickedness stops its mouth.
43 Whoever is wise, let him give heed to these things;
let men consider the steadfast love of the Lord.
