Psalm 31:14-19

New International Version

¹⁴But I trust^(A) in you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my God.”
¹⁵My times^(B) are in your hands;
    deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
    from those who pursue me.
¹⁶Let your face shine^(C) on your servant;
    save me in your unfailing love.^(D)
¹⁷Let me not be put to shame,^(E) Lord,
    for I have cried out to you;
but let the wicked be put to shame
    and be silent^(F) in the realm of the dead.
¹⁸Let their lying lips^(G) be silenced,
    for with pride and contempt
    they speak arrogantly^(H) against the righteous.

¹⁹How abundant are the good things^(I)
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,^(J)
on those who take refuge^(K) in you.

Ask, Seek, Knock^(A)

⁷“Ask and it will be given to you;^(B) seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ⁸For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;^(C) and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

⁹“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? ¹¹If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts^(D) to those who ask him! ¹²So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,^(E) for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.^(F)
