Lord my God, I called to you for help,(A)
    and you healed me.(B)
You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;(C)
    you spared me from going down to the pit.(D)

Sing(E) the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;(F)
    praise his holy name.(G)
For his anger(H) lasts only a moment,(I)
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;(J)
weeping(K) may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.(L)

When I felt secure, I said,
    “I will never be shaken.”(M)
Lord, when you favored me,
    you made my royal mountain[a] stand firm;

    I was dismayed.

To you, Lord, I called;
    to the Lord I cried for mercy:
“What is gained if I am silenced,
    if I go down to the pit?(O)
Will the dust praise you?
    Will it proclaim your faithfulness?(P)
10 Hear,(Q) Lord, and be merciful to me;(R)
    Lord, be my help.(S)

11 You turned my wailing(T) into dancing;(U)
    you removed my sackcloth(V) and clothed me with joy,(W)
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
