Psalm 24

The King of Glory Entering Zion.

A Psalm of David.

24 The ^(A)earth is the Lord’s, and ^[a]all it contains,
The ^(B)world, and those who live in it.
²For He has ^(C)founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
³Who may ^(D)ascend onto the ^(E)hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy ^(F)place?
⁴One who has ^(G)clean hands and a ^(H)pure heart,
Who has not ^(I)lifted up his soul to deceit
And has not ^(J)sworn deceitfully.
⁵He will receive a ^(K)blessing from the Lord
And ^[b]^(L)righteousness from the God of his salvation.
⁶^[c]This is the generation of those who ^(M)seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah

⁷^(N)Lift up your heads, you gates,
And be lifted up, you ^[d]ancient doors,
That the King of ^(O)glory may come in!
⁸Who is the King of glory?
The Lord ^(P)strong and mighty,
The Lord ^(Q)mighty in battle.
⁹Lift up your heads, you gates,
And lift them up, you ^[e]ancient doors,
That the King of ^(R)glory may come in!
¹⁰Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of ^(S)armies,
He is the King of glory. Selah

¹¹“On that day I will ^(A)raise up the fallen ^[a]^(B)shelter of David,
And wall up its ^(C)gaps;
I will also raise up its ruins
And rebuild it as in the ^(D)days of old;
¹²^(E)So that they may ^[b]possess the remnant of ^(F)Edom
And all the ^[c]nations who are ^(G)called by My name,”
Declares the Lord who does this.

¹³“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When the ^(H)plowman will overtake the reaper,
And the one who treads grapes will overtake him who sows the seed;
When the ^(I)mountains will drip grape juice,
And all the hills will come apart.
¹⁴I will also ^(J)restore the fortunes of My people Israel,
And they will ^(K)rebuild the desolated cities and live in them;
They will also ^(L)plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.
¹⁵I will also plant them on their land,
And ^(M)they will not be uprooted again from their land
Which I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God.

Stand Firm

¹³^(A)But we should always give thanks to God for you, ^(B)brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because ^(C)God has chosen you ^[a]from the beginning ^(D)for salvation ^[b]^(E)through sanctification ^[c]by the Spirit and faith in the truth. ¹⁴It was for this He ^(F)called you through ^(G)our gospel, ^[d]that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁵So then, brothers and sisters, ^(H)stand firm and ^(I)hold on to the traditions which you were taught, whether ^(J)by word of mouth or ^(K)by letter ^[e]from us.

¹⁶^(L)Now may our Lord Jesus Christ ^(M)Himself and God our Father, who has ^(N)loved us and given us eternal comfort and ^(O)good hope by grace, ¹⁷^(P)comfort and ^(Q)strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

³⁰“^(A)I can do nothing ^[a]on My own. As I hear, I judge; and ^(B)My judgment is ^[b]righteous, because I do not seek My own will but ^(C)the will of Him who sent Me.

³¹“^(D)If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not ^[c]true. ³²There is ^(E)another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true.

Testimony of John the Baptist

³³You have sent messengers to John, and he ^(F)has testified to the truth. ³⁴But ^(G)the testimony I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. ³⁵He was ^(H)the lamp that was burning and shining, and you ^(I)were willing to rejoice for ^[d]a while in his light.

Testimony of Works

³⁶But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for ^(J)the works which the Father has given Me ^(K)to accomplish—the very works that I do—testify about Me, that the Father ^(L)has sent Me.

Testimony of the Father

³⁷And the Father who sent Me, ^(M)He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. ³⁸Also you do not have ^(N)His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He ^(O)sent.

Testimony of the Scripture

³⁹^[e]^(P)You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is ^(Q)those very Scriptures that testify about Me; ⁴⁰and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. ⁴¹^(R)I do not receive glory from people; ⁴²but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. ⁴³I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not ^[f]receive Me; ^(S)if another comes in his own name, you will ^[g]receive him. ⁴⁴How can you believe, when you ^[h]^(T)accept ^[i]glory from one another and you do not seek ^(U)the ^[j]glory that is from ^(V)the one and only God? ⁴⁵Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is ^(W)Moses, in whom you have put your hope. ⁴⁶For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for ^(X)he wrote about Me. ⁴⁷But ^(Y)if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
