¹⁴⁵With my ^(A)whole heart I cry; answer me, O Lord!
    I will ^(B)keep your statutes.
¹⁴⁶I call to you; save me,
    that I may observe your testimonies.
¹⁴⁷I rise before ^(C)dawn and cry for help;
    I ^(D)hope in your words.
¹⁴⁸My eyes are awake before ^(E)the watches of the night,
    that I may meditate on your promise.
¹⁴⁹Hear my voice according to your steadfast love;
    O Lord, ^(F)according to your justice ^(G)give me life.
¹⁵⁰They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose;
    they are far from your law.
¹⁵¹But ^(H)you are near, O Lord,
    and all your commandments are ^(I)true.
¹⁵²Long have I known from your testimonies
    that you have ^(J)founded them forever.

⁵Woe to me, that I sojourn in ^(BE)Meshech,
    that I dwell among ^(BF)the tents of ^(BG)Kedar!
⁶Too long have I had my dwelling
    among those who hate peace.
⁷^(BH)I am for peace,
    but when I speak, they are for war!

My Help Comes from the Lord

From where does my help come?
²^(BL)My help comes from the Lord,
who ^(BM)made heaven and earth.

³He will not ^(BN)let your foot be moved;
he who ^(BO)keeps you will not slumber.
⁴Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

⁵The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your ^(BP)shade on your ^(BQ)right hand.
⁶^(BR)The sun shall not ^(BS)strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

⁷The Lord will ^(BT)keep you from all evil;
    he will ^(BU)keep your life.
⁸The Lord will keep
    your ^(BV)going out and your coming in
    from this time forth and forevermore.

122 I was glad when they said to me,

²Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!

³Jerusalem—^(BY)built as a city
    that is ^(BZ)bound firmly together,
⁴to which the tribes ^(CA)go up,
    the tribes of the Lord,
as was ^(CB)decreed for^[a] Israel,
    to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
⁵There ^(CC)thrones for judgment were set,
    the thrones of the house of David.

⁶^(CD)Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
    “May they be secure who love you!
⁷Peace be within your ^(CE)walls
    and security within your ^(CF)towers!”
⁸For my brothers and companions' sake
    I will say, ^(CG)“Peace be within you!”
⁹For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
    I will ^(CH)seek your good.

Our Eyes Look to the Lord Our God

    O you who are ^(CK)enthroned in the heavens!
²Behold, as the eyes of servants
    look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maidservant
    to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
    till he has mercy upon us.

³^(CL)Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us,
    for we have had more than enough of ^(CM)contempt.
⁴Our soul has had more than enough
    of ^(CN)the scorn of ^(CO)those who are at ease,
    of the contempt of ^(CP)the proud.

Our Help Is in the Name of the Lord

124 ^(CR)If it had not been the Lord who was on our side—
    ^(CS)let Israel now say—
²if it had not been the Lord who was on our side
    when people rose up against us,
³then they would have ^(CT)swallowed us up alive,
    when their anger was kindled against us;
⁴then ^(CU)the flood would have ^(CV)swept us away,
    the torrent would have gone ^(CW)over us;
⁵then over us would have gone
    the raging waters.

⁶Blessed be the Lord,
    who has not given us
    as prey to their teeth!
⁷We have escaped like a bird
    from ^(CX)the snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken,
    and we have escaped!
