He (A)set the earth on its foundations,
    so that it should never be moved.
You (B)covered it with the deep as with a garment;
    the waters stood above the mountains.
At (C)your rebuke they fled;
    at (D)the sound of your thunder they (E)took to flight.
The mountains rose, the valleys sank down
    to the place that you (F)appointed for them.
You set (G)a boundary that they may not pass,
    so that they (H)might not again cover the earth.

10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys;
    they flow between the hills;
11 they (I)give drink to every beast of the field;
    the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell;
    they sing among the branches.
13 (J)From your lofty abode you (K)water the mountains;
    the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.

14 You cause (L)the grass to grow for the livestock
    and (M)plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth (N)food from the earth
15     and (O)wine to gladden the heart of man,
(P)oil to make his face shine
    and bread to (Q)strengthen man's heart.

16 The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly,
    (R)the cedars of Lebanon (S)that he planted.
17 In them the birds build their nests;
    the stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high mountains are for (T)the wild goats;
    the rocks are a refuge for (U)the rock badgers.

19 He made the moon to mark the (V)seasons;[a]
    the sun knows its time for setting.
20 (W)You make darkness, and it is night,
    when all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 (X)The young lions roar for their prey,
    seeking their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they steal away
    and lie down in their (Y)dens.
23 (Z)Man goes out to his work
    and to his labor until the evening.

24 O Lord, how manifold are your works!
    In (AA)wisdom have you made them all;
    the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
    (AB)which teems with creatures innumerable,
    living things both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
    and (AC)Leviathan, which you formed to (AD)play in it.[b]

27 These (AE)all look to you,
    to (AF)give them their food in due season.
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up;
    when you (AG)open your hand, they are filled with good things.
29 When you (AH)hide your face, they are (AI)dismayed;
    when you (AJ)take away their breath, they die
    and (AK)return to their dust.
30 When you (AL)send forth your Spirit,[c] they are created,
    and you (AM)renew the face of the ground.

31 May the glory of the Lord (AN)endure forever;
    may the Lord (AO)rejoice in his works,
32 who looks on the earth and it (AP)trembles,
    who (AQ)touches the mountains and they smoke!
33 I will sing to the Lord (AR)as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
34 May my (AS)meditation be pleasing to him,
    for I rejoice in the Lord.
35 Let (AT)sinners be consumed from the earth,
    and let the wicked be no more!
(AU)Bless the Lord, O my soul!
(AV)Praise the Lord!

Tell of All His Wondrous Works

105 (AW)Oh give thanks to the Lord; (AX)call upon his name;
    (AY)make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
    (AZ)tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
Seek the Lord and his (BA)strength;
    (BB)seek his presence continually!
Remember the (BC)wondrous works that he has done,
    his miracles, and (BD)the judgments he uttered,
O offspring of (BE)Abraham, his servant,
    children of Jacob, his (BF)chosen ones!

He is the Lord our God;
    his (BG)judgments are in all the earth.
He (BH)remembers his covenant forever,
    the word that he commanded, for (BI)a thousand generations,
(BJ)the covenant that he made with Abraham,
    his (BK)sworn promise to Isaac,
10 which he confirmed to (BL)Jacob as a statute,
    to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 saying, (BM)“To you I will give the land of Canaan
    as (BN)your portion for an inheritance.”

12 When they were (BO)few in number,
    of little account, and (BP)sojourners in it,
13 wandering from nation to nation,
    from one kingdom to another people,
14 he (BQ)allowed no one to oppress them;
    he (BR)rebuked kings on their account,
15 saying, (BS)“Touch not my anointed ones,
    do my prophets no harm!”

16 When he (BT)summoned a famine on the land
    and (BU)broke all supply[d] of bread,
17 he had (BV)sent a man ahead of them,
    Joseph, who was (BW)sold as a slave.
18 His (BX)feet were hurt with fetters;
    his neck was put in a collar of iron;
19 until (BY)what he had said came to pass,
    the word of the Lord (BZ)tested him.
20 (CA)The king sent and (CB)released him;
    the ruler of the peoples set him free;
21 he (CC)made him lord of his house
    and ruler of all his possessions,
22 to bind[e] his princes at his pleasure
    and to teach his elders wisdom.

23 Then (CD)Israel came to Egypt;
    Jacob (CE)sojourned in (CF)the land of Ham.
24 And the Lord (CG)made his people very fruitful
    and made them stronger than their foes.
