Psalm 103

Bless the Lord, O My Soul

103 ^(A)Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
²^(B)Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    and ^(C)forget not all his benefits,
³who ^(D)forgives all your iniquity,
    who ^(E)heals all your diseases,
⁴who ^(F)redeems your life from the pit,
    who ^(G)crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
⁵who ^(H)satisfies you with good
    so that your youth is renewed like ^(I)the eagle's.

⁶The Lord works ^(J)righteousness
    and justice for all who are oppressed.
⁷He made known his ^(K)ways to Moses,
    his ^(L)acts to the people of Israel.
⁸The Lord is ^(M)merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
⁹^(N)He will not always chide,
    nor will he ^(O)keep his anger forever.
¹⁰He does not deal with us ^(P)according to our sins,
    nor repay us according to our iniquities.
¹¹For ^(Q)as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his ^(R)steadfast love toward ^(S)those who fear him;
¹²as far as the east is from the west,
    so far does he ^(T)remove our transgressions from us.
¹³As ^(U)a father shows compassion to his children,
    so the Lord shows compassion ^(V)to those who fear him.
¹⁴For he knows our frame;^[a]
    he ^(W)remembers that we are dust.

¹⁵As for man, his days are like ^(X)grass;
    he flourishes like ^(Y)a flower of the field;
¹⁶for ^(Z)the wind passes over it, and ^(AA)it is gone,
    and ^(AB)its place knows it no more.
¹⁷But ^(AC)the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on ^(AD)those who fear him,
    and his righteousness to ^(AE)children's children,
¹⁸to those who ^(AF)keep his covenant
    and ^(AG)remember to do his commandments.
¹⁹The Lord has ^(AH)established his throne in the heavens,
    and his ^(AI)kingdom rules over all.

²⁰Bless the Lord, O you ^(AJ)his angels,
    you ^(AK)mighty ones who ^(AL)do his word,
    obeying the voice of his word!
²¹Bless the Lord, all his ^(AM)hosts,
    his ^(AN)ministers, who do his will!
²²^(AO)Bless the Lord, all his works,
    in all places of his dominion.

The Song of Moses

15 Then Moses and the people of Israel ^(A)sang this song to the Lord, saying,

^(B)“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
    the horse and his rider^[a] he has thrown into the sea.
²^(C)The Lord is my strength and my ^(D)song,
    and he has become ^(E)my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
    ^(F)my father's God, and ^(G)I will exalt him.
³The Lord is ^(H)a man of war;
    ^(I)the Lord is his name.

⁴^(J)“Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast into the sea,
    and his chosen ^(K)officers were sunk in the Red Sea.
⁵The ^(L)floods covered them;
    they ^(M)went down into the depths like a stone.
⁶^(N)Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power,
    your right hand, O Lord, ^(O)shatters the enemy.
⁷In the ^(P)greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries;
    you send out your fury; it ^(Q)consumes them like stubble.
⁸At the ^(R)blast of your nostrils the waters piled up;
    the ^(S)floods stood up in a heap;
    the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.
⁹The enemy said, ^(T)‘I will pursue, I will overtake,
    I ^(U)will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them.
    I will draw my sword; my hand shall destroy them.’
¹⁰You ^(V)blew with your wind; the ^(W)sea covered them;
    they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

¹¹^(X)“Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods?
    Who is like you, majestic in holiness,
    awesome in ^(Y)glorious deeds, ^(Z)doing wonders?
¹²You stretched out ^(AA)your right hand;
    the earth swallowed them.

¹³“You have ^(AB)led in your steadfast love the people whom ^(AC)you have redeemed;
    you have ^(AD)guided them by your strength to your holy abode.
¹⁴^(AE)The peoples have heard; they tremble;
    pangs have seized the inhabitants of Philistia.
¹⁵Now are the chiefs of Edom ^(AF)dismayed;
    trembling seizes the leaders of ^(AG)Moab;
    ^(AH)all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
¹⁶Terror and ^(AI)dread fall upon them;
    because of the greatness of your arm, they are still ^(AJ)as a stone,
till your people, O Lord, pass by,
    till the people pass by whom ^(AK)you have purchased.
¹⁷You will bring them in and ^(AL)plant them on your own mountain,
    the place, O Lord, which you have made for your abode,
    ^(AM)the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.
¹⁸^(AN)The Lord will reign forever and ever.”

¹⁹For when ^(AO)the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, ^(AP)the Lord brought back the waters of the sea upon them, but the people of Israel walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea. ²⁰Then ^(AQ)Miriam ^(AR)the prophetess, the ^(AS)sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and ^(AT)all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. ²¹And Miriam sang to them:

^(AU)“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”

The Resurrection

28 ^(A)Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and ^(B)the other Mary went to see the tomb. ²And behold, there was a great earthquake, for ^(C)an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. ³^(D)His appearance was like lightning, and ^(E)his clothing white as snow. ⁴And for fear of him the guards trembled and ^(F)became like dead men. ⁵But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. ⁶He is not here, for he has risen, ^(G)as he said. Come, see the place where he^[a] lay. ⁷Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, ^(H)he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” ⁸So they departed quickly from the tomb ^(I)with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. ⁹And behold, Jesus ^(J)met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and ^(K)took hold of his feet and ^(L)worshiped him. ¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; ^(M)go and tell ^(N)my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

The Report of the Guard

¹¹While they were going, behold, some of ^(O)the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. ¹²And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers ¹³and said, “Tell people, ^(P)‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ ¹⁴And if this comes to ^(Q)the governor's ears, we will ^(R)satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” ¹⁵So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews ^(S)to this day.

The Great Commission

¹⁶Now the eleven disciples ^(T)went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. ¹⁷And when they saw him they ^(U)worshiped him, but some doubted. ¹⁸And Jesus came and said to them, ^(V)“All authority ^(W)in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹^(X)Go therefore and ^(Y)make disciples of ^(Z)all nations, ^(AA)baptizing them ^(AB)in^[b] ^(AC)the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰teaching them ^(AD)to observe all that ^(AE)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(AF)I am with you always, to ^(AG)the end of the age.”
