10 From birth(A) I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

11 Do not be far from me,(B)
    for trouble is near(C)
    and there is no one to help.(D)

12 Many bulls(E) surround me;(F)
    strong bulls of Bashan(G) encircle me.
13 Roaring lions(H) that tear their prey(I)
    open their mouths wide(J) against me.
14 I am poured out like water,
    and all my bones are out of joint.(K)
My heart has turned to wax;(L)
    it has melted(M) within me.
15 My mouth[a] is dried up like a potsherd,(N)
    and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;(O)
    you lay me in the dust(P) of death.

16 Dogs(Q) surround me,
    a pack of villains encircles me;
    they pierce[b](R) my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
    people stare(S) and gloat over me.(T)
18 They divide my clothes among them
    and cast lots(U) for my garment.(V)

19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me.(W)
    You are my strength;(X) come quickly(Y) to help me.(Z)
20 Deliver me from the sword,(AA)
    my precious life(AB) from the power of the dogs.(AC)
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;(AD)
    save me from the horns of the wild oxen.(AE)

22 I will declare your name to my people;
    in the assembly(AF) I will praise you.(AG)
