Psalm 121-122
English Standard Version
My Help Comes from the Lord
A Song of (A)Ascents.
121 I (B)lift up my eyes to (C)the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 (D)My help comes from the Lord,
who (E)made heaven and earth.
3 He will not (F)let your foot be moved;
he who (G)keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your (H)shade on your (I)right hand.
6 (J)The sun shall not (K)strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will (L)keep you from all evil;
he will (M)keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your (N)going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
Let Us Go to the House of the Lord
A Song of (O)Ascents. Of David.
122 I was glad when they said to me,
(P)“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
2 Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem—(Q)built as a city
that is (R)bound firmly together,
4 to which the tribes (S)go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was (T)decreed for[a] Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 There (U)thrones for judgment were set,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 (V)Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
“May they be secure who love you!
7 Peace be within your (W)walls
and security within your (X)towers!”
8 For my brothers and companions' sake
I will say, (Y)“Peace be within you!”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will (Z)seek your good.
