17 (A)Deal bountifully with your servant,
(B)that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
19 I am (C)a sojourner on the earth;
(D)hide not your commandments from me!
20 My soul is consumed with (E)longing
for your rules[a] at all times.
21 You rebuke (F)the insolent, (G)accursed ones,
who (H)wander from your commandments.
22 Take away from me (I)scorn and contempt,
(J)for I have kept your testimonies.
23 Even though (K)princes sit plotting against me,
your servant will (L)meditate on your statutes.
24 Your testimonies are my (M)delight;
they are my (N)counselors.

25 (O)My soul clings to the dust;
(P)give me life (Q)according to your word!
26 When (R)I told of my ways, you answered me;
(S)teach me your statutes!
27 (T)Make me understand the way of your precepts,
and I will (U)meditate on your wondrous works.
28 (V)My soul melts away for sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word!
29 Put false ways far from me
and graciously (W)teach me your law!
30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I (X)set your rules before me.
31 I cling to your testimonies, O Lord;
(Y)let me not be put to shame!
32 I will run in the way of your commandments
when you (Z)enlarge my heart![b]

33 (AA)Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes;
and I will keep it (AB)to the end.[c]
34 (AC)Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
35 (AD)Lead me in the path of your commandments,
for I (AE)delight in it.
36 (AF)Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to (AG)selfish gain!
37 (AH)Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and (AI)give me life in your ways.
38 (AJ)Confirm to your servant your promise,
(AK)that you may be feared.
39 Turn away the (AL)reproach that I dread,
for your rules are good.
40 Behold, I (AM)long for your precepts;
(AN)in your righteousness give me life!

41 Let your (AO)steadfast love come to me, O Lord,
your salvation (AP)according to your promise;
42 then (AQ)shall I have an answer for him (AR)who taunts me,
for I trust in your word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
for my (AS)hope is in your rules.
44 I will keep your law continually,
forever and ever,
45 and I shall walk (AT)in a wide place,
for I have (AU)sought your precepts.
46 I will also speak of your testimonies (AV)before kings
and shall not be put to shame,
47 for I (AW)find my delight in your commandments,
which I love.
48 I will (AX)lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love,
and I will (AY)meditate on your statutes.

49 Remember (AZ)your word to your servant,
in which you have made me (BA)hope.
50 This is (BB)my comfort in my affliction,
that your promise (BC)gives me life.
51 (BD)The insolent utterly deride me,
but I do not (BE)turn away from your law.
52 When I think of your rules from of old,
I take comfort, O Lord.
53 (BF)Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked,
who forsake your law.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
in the house of my (BG)sojourning.
55 I (BH)remember your name in the night, O Lord,
and keep your law.
56 This blessing has fallen to me,
that (BI)I have kept your precepts.

I promise to keep your words.
58 I (BK)entreat your favor with all my heart;
be gracious to me (BL)according to your promise.
59 When I (BM)think on my ways,
I turn my feet to your testimonies;
60 I hasten and do not delay
to keep your commandments.
61 Though (BN)the cords of the wicked ensnare me,
I do not (BO)forget your law.
62 At (BP)midnight I rise to praise you,
because of your (BQ)righteous rules.
63 (BR)I am a companion of all who fear you,
of those who keep your precepts.
64 (BS)The earth, O Lord, is full of your steadfast love;
(BT)teach me your statutes!

66 Teach me (BV)good judgment and knowledge,
for I believe in your commandments.
67 (BW)Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.

69 (BZ)The insolent (CA)smear me with lies,
but with my whole heart I (CB)keep your precepts;
70 their heart is unfeeling (CC)like fat,
but I (CD)delight in your law.
71 It is (CE)good for me that I was afflicted,
that I might learn your statutes.
72 (CF)The law of your mouth is better to me
than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

(CH)give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.
74 Those who fear you shall see me and (CI)rejoice,
because I have (CJ)hoped in your word.
75 I know, O Lord, that your rules are (CK)righteous,

76 Let your steadfast love comfort me
according to your promise to your servant.
77 Let your (CM)mercy come to me, that I may live;

78 Let (CO)the insolent be put to (CP)shame,
because they have (CQ)wronged me with falsehood;
as for me, I will (CR)meditate on your precepts.
79 Let those who fear you (CS)turn to me,
that they may know your testimonies.

19 I am a stranger on earth;(C)
do not hide your commands from me.
20 My soul is consumed(D) with longing
for your laws(E) at all times.
21 You rebuke the arrogant,(F) who are accursed,(G)
those who stray(H) from your commands.
22 Remove from me their scorn(I) and contempt,
for I keep your statutes.(J)
23 Though rulers sit together and slander me,
your servant will meditate on your decrees.
24 Your statutes are my delight;
they are my counselors.

preserve my life(L) according to your word.(M)
26 I gave an account of my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.(N)
27 Cause me to understand the way of your precepts,
that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.(O)

be gracious to me(T) and teach me your law.

32 I run in the path of your commands,
for you have broadened my understanding.

36 Turn my heart(AF) toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.(AG)
37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;

so that you may be feared.
39 Take away the disgrace(AK) I dread,
for your laws are good.
40 How I long(AL) for your precepts!

for I trust in your word.

45 I will walk about in freedom,

48 I reach out for your commands, which I love,

50 My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.(BC)
51 The arrogant mock me(BD) unmercifully,
but I do not turn(BE) from your law.
52 I remember,(BF) Lord, your ancient laws,
and I find comfort in them.
53 Indignation grips me(BG) because of the wicked,
who have forsaken your law.(BH)
54 Your decrees are the theme of my song(BI)
wherever I lodge.
55 In the night, Lord, I remember(BJ) your name,
that I may keep your law.(BK)
56 This has been my practice:
I obey your precepts.(BL)

I have promised to obey your words.(BN)
58 I have sought(BO) your face with all my heart;
be gracious to me(BP) according to your promise.(BQ)
59 I have considered my ways(BR)
and have turned my steps to your statutes.
60 I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands.(BS)
61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes,
I will not forget(BT) your law.
62 At midnight(BU) I rise to give you thanks
for your righteous laws.(BV)
63 I am a friend to all who fear you,(BW)
to all who follow your precepts.(BX)
64 The earth is filled with your love,(BY) Lord;
teach me your decrees.(BZ)

65 Do good(CA) to your servant
according to your word,(CB) Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge(CC) and good judgment,
for I trust your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted(CD) I went astray,(CE)

teach me your decrees.(CH)
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,(CI)
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous(CJ) and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted(CK)
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.(CL)

give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice(CN) when they see me,
for I have put my hope in your word.(CO)
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,(CP)
and that in faithfulness(CQ) you have afflicted me.
76 May your unfailing love(CR) be my comfort,
according to your promise(CS) to your servant.
77 Let your compassion(CT) come to me that I may live,
for your law is my delight.(CU)
78 May the arrogant(CV) be put to shame for wronging me without cause;(CW)
but I will meditate on your precepts.
79 May those who fear you turn to me,
those who understand your statutes.(CX)
