Psalmul 60
Pentru dirijor. De cântat ca şi „Crinii mărturiei“. Un mihtam[a] al lui David pentru învăţătură, compus pe vremea când s-a războit cu arameii din Aram-Naharayim[b] şi cu arameii din Ţoba[c] şi cu ocazia întoarcerii lui Ioab de la înfrângerea a doisprezece mii de edomiţi în Valea Sării.
1 Dumnezeule, ne-ai respins, te-ai dezlănţuit împotriva noastră,
te-ai mâniat! Acum, întoarce-Te la noi!
2 Ai zguduit ţara şi ai despicat-o.
Vindecă-i fisurile, căci se cutremură!
3 Ai făcut ca poporul Tău să vadă vremuri grele;
ne-ai dat să bem vin, ca să ne clătinăm.
4 Pentru cei ce se tem de Tine însă
ai ridicat un steag, sub care să se strângă[d] împotriva arcului[e].Sela
5 Pentru ca preaiubiţii Tăi să fie salvaţi,
dă izbăvire prin dreapta Ta şi răspunde-ne!
6 Dumnezeu a vorbit în sfinţenia Sa[f]:
„Voi triumfa, voi împărţi Şehemul
şi voi măsura valea Sucot.
7 Al Meu este Ghiladul, al Meu este şi Manase;
Efraim este coiful Meu,
iar Iuda – sceptrul Meu.
8 Moab este vasul în care Mă spăl.
Deasupra Edomului Îmi arunc încălţările,
iar strigătele Mele de triumf se aud peste Filistia.“
9 Cine mă va conduce în cetatea fortificată?
Cine mă va călăuzi până în Edom?
10 Oare nu ne-ai respins, Dumnezeule?
Căci Tu, Dumnezeule, nu mai ieşi cu oştirile noastre.
11 Dă-ne ajutor împotriva duşmanului,
căci zadarnic este sprijinul dat de om!
12 Cu Dumnezeu vom creşte în putere
şi El îi va călca în picioare pe duşmanii noştri!

60 O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

60 För sångmästaren, efter »Vittnesbördets lilja»; en sång, till att inläras; av David,
2 när han var i fejd med Aram-Naharaim och Aram-Soba, och Joab kom tillbaka och slog edoméerna i Saltdalen, tolv tusen man.
3 Gud, du har förkastat och förskingrat oss, du har varit vred; upprätta oss igen.
4 Du har kommit jorden att bäva och rämna; hela nu dess revor, ty den vacklar.
5 Du har låtit ditt folk se hårda ting, du har iskänkt åt oss rusande vin.
6 Men åt dem som frukta dig gav du ett baner, dit de kunde samla sig för att undfly bågen. Sela.
7 På det att dina vänner må varda räddade, må du giva seger med din högra hand och bönhöra oss.
8 Gud har talat i sin helgedom: »Jag skall triumfera, jag skall utskifta Sikem och skall avmäta Suckots dal.
9 Mitt är Gilead, och mitt är Manasse, Efraim är mitt huvuds värn, Juda min härskarstav;
10 Moab är mitt tvagningskärl, på Edom kastar jag min sko; höj jubelrop till min ära, du filistéernas land.»
11 Vem skall föra mig till den fasta staden, vem leder mig till Edom?
12 Har icke du, o Gud, förkastat oss, så att du ej drager ut med våra härar, o Gud?
13 Giv oss hjälp mot ovännen; ty människors hjälp är fåfänglighet.
14 Med Gud kunna vi göra mäktiga ting; han skall förtrampa våra ovänner.

For the director of music. To the tune of “The Lily of the Covenant.” A miktam[b] of David. For teaching. When he fought Aram Naharaim[c] and Aram Zobah,[d] and when Joab returned and struck down twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.(B)
1 You have rejected us,(C) God, and burst upon us;
you have been angry(D)—now restore us!(E)
2 You have shaken the land(F) and torn it open;
mend its fractures,(G) for it is quaking.
3 You have shown your people desperate times;(H)
you have given us wine that makes us stagger.(I)
4 But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner(J)
to be unfurled against the bow.[e]
5 Save us and help us with your right hand,(K)
that those you love(L) may be delivered.
6 God has spoken from his sanctuary:
“In triumph I will parcel out Shechem(M)
and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.(N)
7 Gilead(O) is mine, and Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim(P) is my helmet,
Judah(Q) is my scepter.(R)
8 Moab is my washbasin,
on Edom I toss my sandal;
over Philistia I shout in triumph.(S)”
9 Who will bring me to the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
10 Is it not you, God, you who have now rejected us
and no longer go out with our armies?(T)
11 Give us aid against the enemy,
for human help is worthless.(U)
12 With God we will gain the victory,
and he will trample down our enemies.(V)
