Psalmul 50
Un psalm al lui Asaf
1 Dumnezeu(A), da, Dumnezeu, Domnul, vorbeşte
şi cheamă pământul, de la răsăritul soarelui până la asfinţitul lui.
2 Din Sion, care este întruparea(B) frumuseţii desăvârşite,
de acolo străluceşte Dumnezeu(C).
3 Dumnezeul nostru vine şi nu tace.
Înaintea Lui merge un foc(D) mistuitor
şi împrejurul Lui, o furtună puternică.
4 El(E) strigă spre ceruri sus
şi spre pământ, ca să judece pe poporul Său:
5 „Strângeţi-Mi pe credincioşii(F) Mei,
care(G) au făcut legământ cu Mine prin jertfă!”
6 Atunci, cerurile(H) vor vesti dreptatea Lui,
căci Dumnezeu(I) este Cel ce judecă.
7 Ascultă(J), poporul Meu, şi voi vorbi;
ascultă, Israele, şi te voi înştiinţa.
Eu sunt Dumnezeu(K), Dumnezeul tău.
8 Nu(L) pentru jertfele tale te(M) mustru,
căci arderile-de-tot ale tale sunt necurmat înaintea Mea.
9 Nu(N) voi lua tauri din casa ta,
nici ţapi din staulele tale.
10 Căci ale Mele sunt toate dobitoacele pădurilor,
toate fiarele munţilor cu miile lor.
11 Eu cunosc toate păsările de pe munţi
şi tot ce se mişcă pe câmp este al Meu.
12 Dacă Mi-ar fi foame, nu ţi-aş spune ţie,
căci(O) a mea este lumea şi tot ce cuprinde ea.
13 Oare mănânc Eu carnea taurilor?
Oare beau Eu sângele ţapilor?
14 Adu ca jertfă(P) lui Dumnezeu mulţumiri
şi împlineşte-ţi(Q) juruinţele făcute Celui Preaînalt.
15 Cheamă-Mă(R) în ziua necazului,
şi Eu te voi izbăvi, iar tu Mă(S) vei proslăvi!
16 Dumnezeu zice însă celui rău:
„Ce tot înşiri tu legile Mele
şi ai în gură legământul Meu,
17 când(T) tu urăşti mustrările
şi arunci(U) cuvintele Mele înapoia ta?
18 Dacă vezi un hoţ, te uneşti(V) cu el
şi te însoţeşti cu(W) preacurvarii.
19 Dai drumul gurii la rău
şi limba ta(X) urzeşte vicleşuguri.
20 Stai şi vorbeşti împotriva fratelui tău,
cleveteşti pe fiul mamei tale.
21 Iată ce ai făcut, şi(Y) Eu am tăcut.
Ţi-ai închipuit(Z) că Eu sunt ca tine.
Dar te(AA) voi mustra şi îţi voi pune totul sub ochi!”
22 Luaţi seama dar, voi, care uitaţi(AB) pe Dumnezeu,
ca nu cumva să vă sfâşii şi să nu fie nimeni să vă scape.
23 Cine(AC) aduce mulţumiri ca jertfă, acela Mă proslăveşte,
şi celui(AD) ce veghează asupra căii lui,
aceluia îi voi arăta mântuirea lui Dumnezeu.

A psalm of Asaph.
1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord,(A)
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to where it sets.(B)
2 From Zion,(C) perfect in beauty,(D)
God shines forth.(E)
3 Our God comes(F)
and will not be silent;(G)
a fire devours(H) before him,(I)
and around him a tempest(J) rages.
4 He summons the heavens above,
and the earth,(K) that he may judge his people:(L)
5 “Gather to me this consecrated people,(M)
who made a covenant(N) with me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens proclaim(O) his righteousness,
for he is a God of justice.[a][b](P)
7 “Listen, my people, and I will speak;
I will testify(Q) against you, Israel:
I am God, your God.(R)
8 I bring no charges(S) against you concerning your sacrifices
or concerning your burnt offerings,(T) which are ever before me.
9 I have no need of a bull(U) from your stall
or of goats(V) from your pens,(W)
10 for every animal of the forest(X) is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.(Y)
11 I know every bird(Z) in the mountains,
and the insects in the fields(AA) are mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
for the world(AB) is mine, and all that is in it.(AC)
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
14 “Sacrifice thank offerings(AD) to God,
fulfill your vows(AE) to the Most High,(AF)
15 and call(AG) on me in the day of trouble;(AH)
I will deliver(AI) you, and you will honor(AJ) me.”
16 But to the wicked person, God says:
“What right have you to recite my laws
or take my covenant(AK) on your lips?(AL)
17 You hate(AM) my instruction
and cast my words behind(AN) you.
18 When you see a thief, you join(AO) with him;
you throw in your lot with adulterers.(AP)
19 You use your mouth for evil
and harness your tongue to deceit.(AQ)
20 You sit and testify against your brother(AR)
and slander your own mother’s son.
21 When you did these things and I kept silent,(AS)
you thought I was exactly[c] like you.
But I now arraign(AT) you
and set my accusations(AU) before you.
