Psalm 85
1 Voor de leider van het koor. Een lied voor de Korachieten.[a]
2 U bent goed geweest voor uw land, Heer.
U heeft de gevangenen uit Babel terug laten gaan.
3 U heeft uw volk vergeven dat het U ongehoorzaam was.
U denkt er niet meer aan.
4 U bent niet langer boos.
Uw woede is voorbij.
5 Red ons alstublieft, God.
Wees niet langer boos op ons.
6 Wilt U dan voor altijd boos op ons blijven?
Houdt uw woede dan nooit meer op?
7 Wilt U ons dan niet redden,
zodat uw volk weer blij zal zijn?
8 Laat ons alstublieft zien, Heer,
dat U goed en liefdevol bent!
Red ons alstublieft!
9 Ik wil luisteren naar wat de Heer God zegt.
Want Hij spreekt van vrede voor zijn volk en zijn vrienden
als ze zich niet langer als dwazen gedragen.
10 Hij redt de mensen die ontzag voor Hem hebben.
Zo is zijn macht te zien in ons land.
11 Liefde en trouw komen samen.
Rechtvaardigheid en vrede omhelzen elkaar.
12 Trouw groeit op uit de aarde.
Rechtvaardigheid daalt uit de hemel neer als regen.
13 Ja, de Heer zal goed voor ons zijn.
Het land zal grote oogsten geven.
14 Rechtvaardigheid zal voor Hem uit gaan
op de weg waarlangs Hij gaat.

- Psalmen 85:1 De familie van Korach was één van de families uit de stam van Levi die dienst deden bij het heiligdom van de Heer. De Korachieten werkten daar als poortwachters en zangers.

2 Eternel, tu as montré ╵ta faveur à ton pays.
Tu as rétabli Jacob[b].
3 Tu as pardonné ╵les fautes commises par ton peuple,
tu as effacé tous ses péchés.

4 Tu as retenu ╵toute ta fureur,
tu es revenu ╵de ton ardente colère.
5 Oh, rétablis-nous[c], ╵Dieu, notre Sauveur !
Mets un terme ╵à ta colère envers nous !
6 Vas-tu, éternellement, ╵être irrité contre nous ?
Ton ressentiment ╵durera-t-il d’âge en âge ?
7 Ne voudrais-tu pas ╵nous rendre à la vie
afin que ton peuple ╵se réjouisse en toi ?
8 Fais-nous contempler, ╵ton amour, ô Eternel !
Accorde-nous ton salut !
9 Je veux écouter ╵ce que dit Dieu, l’Eternel :
c’est de bien-être qu’il parle ╵à son peuple ╵et à ceux qui lui sont attachés.
Mais qu’ils ne retournent pas ╵à leur fol égarement.
10 Oui, il va bientôt ╵œuvrer au salut ╵de ceux qui le craignent,
afin que sa gloire ╵puisse demeurer ╵dans notre pays.
11 L’amour, la fidélité ╵vont se rencontrer,
et la justice et la paix ╵se donneront l’accolade.
12 La vérité germera ╵du sein de la terre,
et la justice regardera ╵depuis les hauteurs célestes.
13 L’Eternel lui-même ╵nous donnera le bonheur
et notre pays ╵produira ses fruits.
14 La justice le précédera,
elle tracera ╵un chemin devant ses pas[d].

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.
1 You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
you restored the fortunes(A) of Jacob.
2 You forgave(B) the iniquity(C) of your people
and covered all their sins.[b]
3 You set aside all your wrath(D)
and turned from your fierce anger.(E)
4 Restore(F) us again, God our Savior,(G)
and put away your displeasure toward us.
5 Will you be angry with us forever?(H)
Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
6 Will you not revive(I) us again,
that your people may rejoice(J) in you?
7 Show us your unfailing love,(K) Lord,
and grant us your salvation.(L)
8 I will listen to what God the Lord says;
he promises peace(M) to his people, his faithful servants—
but let them not turn to folly.(N)
9 Surely his salvation(O) is near those who fear him,
that his glory(P) may dwell in our land.
10 Love and faithfulness(Q) meet together;
righteousness(R) and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
and righteousness(S) looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,(T)
and our land will yield(U) its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
and prepares the way for his steps.

85 Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
