Psalm 64
1 Een lied van David. Voor de leider van het koor.
2 God, hoor mij alstublieft. Ik ben in gevaar!
Red mij, want mijn vijanden willen me doden.
3 Bescherm mij tegen hen,
tegen de plannen die ze tegen me smeden.
4 Hun tong is zo scherp als een zwaard.
Hun woorden zijn zo scherp als pijlen.
5 Die schieten ze plotseling op mij af,
zoals je vanuit een hinderlaag pijlen afschiet op een onschuldig mens.
Ze deinzen nergens voor terug.
6 Ze overleggen met elkaar hoe ze een val voor mij kunnen opzetten.
Ze zeggen: "Er is toch niemand die het ziet!"
7 Ze zijn kwaad tegen mij van plan.
Ze bedenken het ergste wat ze maar bedenken kunnen.
Het allerslechtste komt diep uit hun hart naar boven.
8 Maar plotseling schiet God op hen met zijn pijlen.
Plotseling treft henzelf een ramp.
9 Hun eigen woorden brengen hen nu ten val.
De mensen die zien wat er met hen gebeurt,
zullen op de vlucht slaan.
10 Zo krijgen alle mensen ontzag voor God.
Ze vertellen wat Hij heeft gedaan.
Ze zien hoe God te werk gaat.
11 Mensen die leven zoals God het wil,
zijn blij met de Heer.
Want bij Hem zijn ze veilig.

祈求上帝的保護
大衛作的詩，交給樂長。
64 上帝啊，求你傾聽我的苦訴，
求你保護我的性命不受仇敵的威脅。
2 求你保護我免遭惡人的謀害，
使我脫離不法之徒。
3 他們舌頭鋒利如刀，
言語惡毒如箭穿心。
4 他們埋伏起來，
暗箭傷害純全無過的人。
他們突然襲擊，毫無顧忌。
5 他們狼狽為奸，
商量暗設網羅，
以為誰也看不見。
6 他們圖謀不義之事，
認為策劃得無懈可擊。
人心真是狡猾。
7 但上帝必用箭射他們，
將他們突然射倒在地。
8 他們必自作自受，
被自己的舌頭所害。
看見的人都嘲笑他們。
9 這樣，人人必敬畏上帝，
傳揚祂奇妙的作為，
思想祂所做的事。
10 義人必因耶和華而歡欣，
並且投靠祂，
心地正直的人必讚美祂。
Psalm 64
King James Version
64 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Prayer for Protection from Secret Enemies.
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
64 Hear my voice, O God, in my [a]complaint;
Guard my life from the terror of the enemy.
2
Hide me from the secret counsel and conspiracy of the ungodly,
From the scheming of those who do wrong,
3
Who have sharpened their tongues like a sword.
They aim venomous words as arrows,
4
To shoot from ambush at the blameless [one];
Suddenly they shoot at him, without fear.
5
They encourage themselves in [their pursuit of] an evil agenda;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who will discover us?”
6
They devise acts of injustice, saying,
“We are ready with a well-conceived plan.”
For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep (mysterious, unsearchable).
7
But God will shoot them with an [unexpected] arrow;
Suddenly they will be wounded.
8
So they will be caused to stumble;
Their own tongue is against them;
All who gaze at them will shake the head [in scorn].
9
Then all men will fear [God’s judgment];
They will declare the work of God,
And they will consider and wisely acknowledge what He has done.
10
The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him;
All the upright in heart will glory and offer praise.
