Psalm 43

Mijn God, kom alstublieft voor mij op.
Wees mijn Rechter.
Ik word beschuldigd door een volk dat U niet wil dienen.
Help me te ontsnappen aan deze mensen die liegen en bedriegen.
Ik vraag U om mij te beschermen.
Waarom neemt U het niet voor mij op?
Waarom maken mijn vijanden me het leven zo moeilijk?
Ik loop in zwarte kleren vanwege alle ellende.
Leid mij, Heer.
Uw woord is als een lamp voor mij.
Uw woord zal me naar uw heiligdom leiden,
naar uw heilige berg.
Dan zal ik naar uw altaar gaan.
Daar zal ik met muziek over U jubelen en juichen.
Want U bent mijn God!

Ik zeg tegen mezelf:
"Waarom ben je zo treurig?
Waarom ben je zo onrustig?
Vertrouw op God!
Hem zal ik prijzen.
Hij is mijn Redder, Hij is mijn God!"

Psalm 43[a]

Vindicate me, my God,
    and plead my cause(A)
    against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me(B) from those who are
    deceitful and wicked.(C)
You are God my stronghold.
    Why have you rejected(D) me?
Why must I go about mourning,(E)
    oppressed by the enemy?(F)
Send me your light(G) and your faithful care,(H)
    let them lead me;(I)
let them bring me to your holy mountain,(J)
    to the place where you dwell.(K)
Then I will go(L) to the altar(M) of God,
    to God, my joy(N) and my delight.(O)
I will praise you with the lyre,(P)
    O God, my God.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
    for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.(Q)

Prayer to God in Time of Trouble

43 Vindicate (A)me, O God,
And (B)plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
(C)Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

(D)Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to (E)Your holy hill
And to Your [a]tabernacle.
Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.

(F)Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The [b]help of my countenance and my God.
