Psalm 22
1 Een lied van David, op de wijs van: 'Het hert van de zonsopgang'. Voor de leider van het koor.
2 Mijn God, mijn God, waarom heeft U mij verlaten?
Waarom redt U mij niet als ik schreeuw om hulp?
3 Mijn God, dag en nacht roep ik tot U.
Ik geef niet op, maar U antwoordt mij niet.
4 Toch bent U de Heilige God.
Heel Israël eert U met zijn liederen als Koning!
5 Onze voorouders hebben op U vertrouwd.
Ze hebben op U vertrouwd en U heeft hen gered.
6 Ze hebben U om hulp geroepen,
en U heeft hen bevrijd.
Ze hebben op U vertrouwd,
en U heeft hen niet teleurgesteld.
7 Maar ik lijk wel een worm in plaats van een man.
Zó word ik vertrapt!
De mensen lachen me uit en geven niets om me.
8 Iedereen die mij ziet, scheldt me uit.
Ze schudden hun hoofd en zeggen spottend:
9 "Je hebt toch de Heer om hulp gevraagd?
Laat Hij je dan maar redden!
Laat Hij je maar bevrijden!
Je zegt toch dat Hij van je houdt?"
10 U heeft mij gemaakt.
Toen ik geboren was, legde U mij rustig in mijn moeders armen.
11 Vanaf mijn geboorte was ik van U.
Ja, al vóór mijn geboorte was U mijn God.
12 Laat me dan nu niet in de steek!
Want ik ben in nood en niemand komt mij helpen.
13 Mijn vijanden zijn overal om mij heen.
Ze lijken wel een kudde wilde buffels.
14 Ze loeren op me en bedreigen me,
als verscheurende, brullende leeuwen.
15 Mijn leven stroomt als water uit mij weg.
Ik ben helemaal uitgeput.
Ik heb alle moed verloren.
16 Mijn kracht brokkelt steeds verder af.
Mijn tong kleeft vast in mijn mond.
U legt mij al op de rand van de dood.
17 Want mijn vijanden hebben mij omsingeld.
Ze bedreigen me als grommende honden.
Schurken sluiten me in.
Ze doorboren mijn handen en voeten.
18 Al mijn botten zijn te tellen.
Mijn vijanden kijken toe en genieten van mijn pijn.
19 Ze verdelen mijn kleren onder elkaar.
Ze loten wie mijn onderkleed mag hebben.
20 Heer, laat me niet in de steek!
Kom me snel helpen. U bent mijn kracht.
21 Red mijn leven van de dood.
Ik sta helemaal alleen tegenover die honden.
22 Red me uit de bek van de leeuwen.
Red me van de horens van de wilde buffels.
Heer, hoor mijn gebed!
23 Ik zal mijn broers vertellen wat U heeft gedaan.
Als we bij elkaar komen,
zal ik U met mijn liederen loven en prijzen.
24 Iedereen die diep ontzag voor U heeft, zal U prijzen.
Prijs Hem, volk van Israël!
25 Want Hij heeft naar mij geluisterd toen ik in nood was.
Hij bleef niet op een afstand staan,
maar kwam mij redden toen ik Hem om hulp riep.
26 Als we bij elkaar komen, zal ik U prijzen voor wat U heeft gedaan.
Ik zal U de offers brengen die ik U heb beloofd.
27 De mensen die U dienen, zullen kunnen eten zoveel als ze willen.
De mensen die U om hulp vragen, zullen U prijzen.
Voor eeuwig zullen ze blij zijn!
28 Over de hele wereld zullen de mensen dit horen.
Ze zullen de Heer gaan dienen.
Alle volken zullen Hem aanbidden.
29 Want de Heer is Koning.
Hij heerst over alle volken.
30 De machtige mensen zullen voor Hem knielen.
Ze zullen op zijn feestmaaltijd komen en Hem aanbidden.
Rijke en arme mensen mogen komen.
31 Hun kinderen zullen Hem dienen.
Ze zullen aan alle mensen vertellen wat de Heer heeft gedaan.
32 Aan iedereen die geboren wordt,
zullen ze vertellen dat de Heer rechtvaardig is,
omdat Hij alles heeft gedaan wat nodig is.

22 Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado(A)?
¿Por qué estás tan lejos de mi salvación(B) y de las palabras de mi clamor(C)?
2 Dios mío, de día clamo y no respondes(D);
Y de noche, pero no hay para mí reposo.
3 Sin embargo, Tú eres santo(E),
Que habitas entre las alabanzas de Israel(F).
4 En Ti confiaron nuestros padres(G);
Confiaron, y Tú los libraste(H).
5 A Ti clamaron, y fueron librados;
En Ti confiaron, y no fueron decepcionados(I).
6 ¶Pero yo soy gusano(J), y no hombre;
Oprobio de los hombres(K), y despreciado del pueblo(L).
7 Todos los que me ven, de mí se burlan(M);
Hacen muecas con los labios, menean la cabeza(N), diciendo:
8 Que se encomiende al Señor; que Él lo libre;
Que Él lo rescate, puesto que en Él se deleita(O).
9 ¶Porque Tú me sacaste del seno materno;
Me hiciste confiar estando a los pechos de mi madre(P).
10 A Ti fui entregado desde mi nacimiento;
Desde el vientre de mi madre Tú eres mi Dios(Q).
11 ¶No estés lejos de mí(R), porque la angustia está cerca,
Pues no hay nadie que ayude(S).
12 Muchos toros me han rodeado(T);
Toros fuertes de Basán(U) me han cercado.
13 Ávidos abren su boca contra mí(V),
Como un león que despedaza y ruge(W).
14 Soy derramado como agua(X),
Y todos mis huesos están descoyuntados(Y);
Mi corazón es como cera(Z);
Se derrite en medio de mis entrañas.
15 Como un tiesto se ha secado mi vigor(AA),
Y la lengua se me pega al paladar(AB);
Me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte(AC).
16 Porque perros me han rodeado(AD);
Me ha cercado cuadrilla de malhechores;
Me horadaron las manos y los pies(AE).
17 Puedo contar todos mis huesos;
Ellos me miran, me observan(AF).
18 Se reparten entre sí mis vestidos,
Y sobre mi ropa echan suertes(AG).
19 ¶Pero Tú, oh Señor, no estés lejos(AH);
Fuerza mía, apresúrate a socorrerme(AI).
20 Libra mi alma de la espada(AJ),
Mi única vida de las garras del perro(AK).
21 Sálvame de la boca del león(AL)
Y de los cuernos de los búfalos(AM); respóndeme(AN).
22 ¶Hablaré de Tu nombre a mis hermanos;
En medio de la congregación te alabaré(AO).
23 Los que temen al Señor, alábenlo(AP);
Descendencia toda de Jacob, glorifíquenlo(AQ),
Témanlo(AR), descendencia toda de Israel.
24 Porque Él no ha despreciado ni aborrecido la aflicción del angustiado(AS),
Ni le ha escondido Su rostro(AT);
Sino que cuando clamó al Señor, lo escuchó(AU).
25 ¶De Ti viene mi alabanza en la gran congregación(AV);
Mis votos cumpliré delante de los que le temen(AW).
26 Los pobres comerán y se saciarán(AX);
Los que buscan al Señor, lo alabarán(AY).
¡Viva para siempre el corazón de ustedes(AZ)!
27 Todos los términos de la tierra(BA) se acordarán y se volverán al Señor,
Y todas las familias de las naciones adorarán delante de Ti(BB).
28 Porque del Señor es el reino(BC),
Y Él gobierna las naciones(BD).
29 Todos los grandes de la tierra comerán y adorarán(BE);
Se postrarán ante Él todos los que descienden al polvo(BF),
Aun aquel que no puede conservar viva su alma(BG).
30 La posteridad le servirá(BH);
Esto se dirá del Señor hasta la generación(BI) venidera.
31 Vendrán y anunciarán Su justicia(BJ);
A un pueblo por nacer(BK), anunciarán que Él ha hecho esto.

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?(A)
Why are you so far(B) from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?(C)
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,(D)
by night,(E) but I find no rest.[b]
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;(F)
you are the one Israel praises.[c](G)
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.(H)
5 To you they cried out(I) and were saved;
in you they trusted(J) and were not put to shame.(K)
6 But I am a worm(L) and not a man,
scorned by everyone,(M) despised(N) by the people.
7 All who see me mock me;(O)
they hurl insults,(P) shaking their heads.(Q)
8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
“let the Lord rescue him.(R)
Let him deliver him,(S)
since he delights(T) in him.”
9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;(U)
you made me trust(V) in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth(W) I was cast on you;
from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
12 Many bulls(AA) surround me;(AB)
strong bulls of Bashan(AC) encircle me.
13 Roaring lions(AD) that tear their prey(AE)
open their mouths wide(AF) against me.
14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.(AG)
My heart has turned to wax;(AH)
it has melted(AI) within me.
15 My mouth[d] is dried up like a potsherd,(AJ)
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;(AK)
you lay me in the dust(AL) of death.
16 Dogs(AM) surround me,
a pack of villains encircles me;
they pierce[e](AN) my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
people stare(AO) and gloat over me.(AP)
18 They divide my clothes among them
and cast lots(AQ) for my garment.(AR)
19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me.(AS)
You are my strength;(AT) come quickly(AU) to help me.(AV)
20 Deliver me from the sword,(AW)
my precious life(AX) from the power of the dogs.(AY)
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;(AZ)
save me from the horns of the wild oxen.(BA)
22 I will declare your name to my people;
in the assembly(BB) I will praise you.(BC)
23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!(BD)
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!(BE)
Revere him,(BF) all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not despised(BG) or scorned
the suffering of the afflicted one;(BH)
he has not hidden his face(BI) from him
but has listened to his cry for help.(BJ)
25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;(BK)
before those who fear you[f] I will fulfill my vows.(BL)
26 The poor will eat(BM) and be satisfied;
those who seek the Lord will praise him—(BN)
may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth(BO)
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,(BP)
28 for dominion belongs to the Lord(BQ)
and he rules over the nations.
29 All the rich(BR) of the earth will feast and worship;(BS)
all who go down to the dust(BT) will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.(BU)
30 Posterity(BV) will serve him;
future generations(BW) will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,(BX)
declaring to a people yet unborn:(BY)
He has done it!(BZ)

22 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
