115 Nicht uns, HERR, nicht uns, sondern deinem Namen gib Ehre um deine Gnade und Wahrheit!
2 Warum sollen die Heiden sagen: Wo ist nun ihr Gott?
3 Aber unser Gott ist im Himmel; er kann schaffen, was er will.
4 Jener Götzen aber sind Silber und Gold, von Menschenhänden gemacht.
5 Sie haben Mäuler, und reden nicht; sie haben Augen, und sehen nicht;
6 sie haben Ohren, und hören nicht; sie heben Nasen, und riechen nicht;
7 sie haben Hände, und greifen nicht; Füße haben sie, und gehen nicht; sie reden nicht durch ihren Hals.
8 Die solche machen, sind ihnen gleich, und alle, die auf sie hoffen.
9 Aber Israel hoffe auf den HERRN! Der ist ihre Hilfe und Schild.
10 Das Haus Aaron hoffe auf den HERRN! Der ist ihre Hilfe und Schild.
11 Die den HERRN fürchten, hoffen auf den HERRN! Der ist ihre Hilfe und Schild.
12 Der HERR denkt an uns und segnet uns; er segnet das Haus Israel, er segnet das Haus Aaron;
13 er segnet, die den HERRN fürchten, Kleine und Große.
14 Der HERR segne euch je mehr und mehr, euch und eure Kinder!
15 Ihr seid die Gesegneten des HERRN, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat.
16 Der Himmel allenthalben ist des HERRN; aber die Erde hat er den Menschenkindern gegeben.
17 Die Toten werden dich, HERR, nicht loben, noch die hinunterfahren in die Stille;
18 sondern wir loben den HERRN von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. Halleluja!

1 Nicht uns, o Herr, nicht uns,
sondern deinem Namen gib Ehre,
um deiner Gnade und Treue[a] willen!
2 Warum sollen die Heiden sagen:
»Wo ist denn ihr Gott?«
3 Aber unser Gott ist im Himmel;
er tut alles, was ihm wohlgefällt.
4 Ihre Götzen sind Silber und Gold,
von Menschenhänden gemacht.[b]
5 Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht,
sie haben Augen und sehen nicht;
6 Ohren haben sie und hören nicht,
eine Nase haben sie und riechen nicht;
7 Hände haben sie und greifen nicht,
Füße haben sie und gehen nicht;
mit ihrer Kehle geben sie keinen Laut.
8 Ihnen gleich werden die, welche sie machen,
alle, die auf sie vertrauen.
9 Israel, vertraue auf den Herrn!
Er ist ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild.
10 Haus Aaron, vertraut auf den Herrn!

11 Die ihr den Herrn fürchtet, vertraut auf den Herrn!

12 Der Herr wolle an uns gedenken; er wolle segnen!
Er segne das Haus Israel,

13 Er segne, die den Herrn fürchten,
die Kleinen samt den Großen!
14 Der Herr mehre euch,
euch und eure Kinder!
15 Gesegnet seid ihr von dem Herrn,
der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat.
16 Der Himmel ist der Himmel des Herrn;
aber die Erde hat er den Menschenkindern gegeben.
17 Die Toten rühmen den Herrn nicht,
keiner, der zum Schweigen hinabfährt.
18 Wir aber wollen den Herrn preisen
von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

115 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God
115 Not (A)unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
2 Why should the [a]Gentiles say,
(B)“So where is their God?”
3 (C)But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases.
4 (D)Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
5 They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
6 They have ears, but they do not hear;
Noses they have, but they do not smell;
7 They have hands, but they do not handle;
Feet they have, but they do not walk;
Nor do they mutter through their throat.

So is everyone who trusts in them.
9 (F)O Israel, trust in the Lord;
(G)He is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord;
