Psalm 90:7-14

New International Version

⁷We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
⁸You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins^(A) in the light of your presence.^(B)
⁹All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.^(C)
¹⁰Our days may come to seventy years,^(D)
    or eighty,^(E) if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,^(F)
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.^(G)
¹¹If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath^(H) is as great as the fear that is your due.^(I)
¹²Teach us to number our days,^(J)
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.^(K)

¹³Relent, Lord! How long^(L) will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.^(M)
¹⁴Satisfy^(N) us in the morning with your unfailing love,^(O)
that we may sing for joy^(P) and be glad all our days.^(Q)

¹⁶For God so loved^(A) the world that he gave^(B) his one and only Son,^(C) that whoever believes^(D) in him shall not perish but have eternal life.^(E) ¹⁷For God did not send his Son into the world^(F) to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.^(G) ¹⁸Whoever believes in him is not condemned,^(H) but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.^(I) ¹⁹This is the verdict: Light^(J) has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.^(K) ²⁰Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.^(L) ²¹But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
