Psalm 94:6-17

⁶They kill ^(A)the widow and the sojourner,
and murder ^(B)the fatherless;
⁷^(C)and they say, “The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.”

⁸^(D)Understand, O dullest of the people!
    Fools, when will you be wise?
⁹^(E)He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
¹⁰He who ^(F)disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke?
He who ^(G)teaches man knowledge—
¹¹    ^(H)the Lord—knows the thoughts of man,
    that they are ^(I)but a breath.^[a]

¹²^(J)Blessed is the man whom you ^(K)discipline, O Lord,
    and whom you teach out of your law,
¹³to give him ^(L)rest from ^(M)days of trouble,
    until ^(N)a pit is dug for the wicked.
¹⁴^(O)For the Lord will not forsake his ^(P)people;
    he will not abandon his ^(Q)heritage;
¹⁵for ^(R)justice will return to the righteous,
    and all the upright in heart will ^(S)follow it.

¹⁶^(T)Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
¹⁷^(U)If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of ^(V)silence.
