Psalm 91:14-94:16
English Standard Version
14 “Because he (A)holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he (B)knows my name.
15 When he (C)calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and (D)honor him.
16 With (E)long life I will satisfy him
and (F)show him my salvation.”
How Great Are Your Works
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath.
92 (G)It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, (H)O Most High;
2 to declare your (I)steadfast love in (J)the morning,
and your (K)faithfulness by (L)night,
3 to the music of (M)the lute and (N)the harp,
to the melody of (O)the lyre.
4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your (P)work;
at (Q)the works of your hands I sing for joy.
5 How (R)great are your works, O Lord!
Your (S)thoughts are very (T)deep!
6 The stupid man cannot know;
the fool cannot understand this:
7 that though (U)the wicked sprout like grass
and all (V)evildoers flourish,
they are doomed to destruction forever;
8 but you, O Lord, are (W)on high forever.
9 For behold, your enemies, O Lord,
for behold, your enemies shall perish;
all evildoers shall be (X)scattered.
10 But you have exalted my (Y)horn like that of (Z)the wild ox;
you have (AA)poured over me[a] fresh oil.
11 My (AB)eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants.
12 (AC)The righteous flourish like the palm tree
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 They are planted in the house of the Lord;
they flourish in (AD)the courts of our God.
14 They still bear fruit in old age;
they are ever full of sap and green,
15 (AE)to declare that the Lord is upright;
he is my (AF)rock, and there is (AG)no unrighteousness in him.
The Lord Reigns
93 (AH)The Lord reigns; he is (AI)robed in majesty;
the Lord is (AJ)robed; he has (AK)put on strength as his belt.
(AL)Yes, the world is established; (AM)it shall never be moved.
2 (AN)Your throne is established from of old;
(AO)you are from everlasting.
3 (AP)The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
4 Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
(AQ)the Lord (AR)on high is mighty!
The Lord Will Not Forsake His People
94 O Lord, God of (AU)vengeance,
O God of vengeance, (AV)shine forth!
2 (AW)Rise up, O (AX)judge of the earth;
repay to the (AY)proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, (AZ)how long shall the wicked,
how long shall (BA)the wicked exult?
4 They pour out their (BB)arrogant words;
all (BC)the evildoers boast.
5 They (BD)crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill (BE)the widow and the sojourner,
and murder (BF)the fatherless;
7 (BG)and they say, “The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.”
8 (BH)Understand, O dullest of the people!
Fools, when will you be wise?
9 (BI)He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who (BJ)disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke?
He who (BK)teaches man knowledge—
11 (BL)the Lord—knows the thoughts of man,
that they are (BM)but a breath.[b]
12 (BN)Blessed is the man whom you (BO)discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 to give him (BP)rest from (BQ)days of trouble,
until (BR)a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 (BS)For the Lord will not forsake his (BT)people;
he will not abandon his (BU)heritage;
15 for (BV)justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will (BW)follow it.
16 (BX)Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
