Psalm 88:17-89:4

¹⁷ They ^(A)surround me like a flood ^(B)all day long;
    they ^(C)close in on me together.
¹⁸ You have caused ^(D)my beloved and my friend to shun me;
    my companions have become darkness.^[a]

89 ^(F)I will sing of ^(G)the steadfast love of the Lord forever;
    with my mouth I will make known your ^(H)faithfulness to all generations.
² For I said, ^(I)“Steadfast love will be built up forever;
    in the heavens ^(J)you will establish your ^(K)faithfulness.”
³ You have said, “I have made ^(L)a covenant with my ^(M)chosen one;
    I have ^(N)sworn to David my servant:
⁴ ‘I will establish your ^(O)offspring forever,
    and build your ^(P)throne for all generations.’” Selah
