Psalm 87
1 Von den Söhnen Korahs. Ein Psalmlied.
Er hat sie gegründet auf heiligen Bergen;
2 der Herr liebt die Tore Zions
mehr als alle Wohnungen Jakobs.
3 Herrliches ist über dich verheißen,
du Stadt Gottes! (Sela.)
4 Ich nenne Rahab[a] und Babel denen, die mich kennen;
siehe, Philisterland und Tyrus und Kusch[b]:
»Dieser ist dort geboren.«
5 Aber von Zion wird man sagen:
»Mann für Mann ist in ihr geboren«,
und der Höchste selbst wird sie befestigen.
6 Der Herr wird zählen, wenn er die Völker verzeichnet:
»Dieser ist dort geboren.« (Sela.)
7 Und sie singen beim Reigen:
»Alle meine Quellen sind in dir!«

Zion, Gottes geliebte Stadt
87 Ein Lied von den Nachkommen Korachs.
Hoch auf dem heiligen Berg hat Gott die Stadt Zion errichtet.
2 Er liebt Jerusalem mit seinen herrlichen Toren
mehr als alle anderen Orte, in denen die Nachkommen von Jakob wohnen.
3 Du bist weltberühmt, du Stadt Gottes!
Der Herr sagt:
4 »In Ägypten und Babylon gibt es Menschen,
die mich kennen und ehren,
und auch bei den Philistern, in Tyrus und Äthiopien
findet man Bürger meiner Stadt.«[a]
5 Aber von Jerusalem selbst heißt es:
»Alle seine Einwohner haben hier ihr Bürgerrecht!«[b]
Ja, er, der Höchste, lässt Zion fest bestehen!
6 Der Herr wird eine Liste aller Völker aufstellen
und darin jeden vermerken, der zu Jerusalem gehört.[c]
7 Sie alle werden tanzen und fröhlich singen:
»Was wir haben, verdanken wir dieser Stadt!«

87 His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Selah.
4 I will record Rahab[a] and Babylon among those who acknowledge me.
Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia:
“This one was born there.”
5 Yes, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one was born in her;”
the Most High himself will establish her.
6 Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples,
“This one was born there.” Selah.
7 Those who sing as well as those who dance say,
“All my springs are in you.”

6 The Lord will write in the register(H) of the peoples:
“This one was born in Zion.”
