¹¹^(A)Teach me your way, O Lord,
    that I may ^(B)walk in your truth;
    ^(C)unite my heart to fear your name.
¹²I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,
    and I will glorify your name forever.
¹³^(D)For great is your steadfast love toward me;
    you have ^(E)delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

¹⁴O God, insolent men have ^(F)risen up against me;
    a band of ruthless men seeks my life,
    and they do not set you before them.
¹⁵But you, O Lord, are a God ^(G)merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
¹⁶^(H)Turn to me and be gracious to me;
    give your strength to ^(I)your servant,
    and save ^(J)the son of your maidservant.
¹⁷^(K)Show me a sign of your ^(L)favor,
    that those who hate me may see and be put to shame
    because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

¹²These are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, ^(A)whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's servant, bore to Abraham. ¹³^(B)These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, named in the order of their birth: ^(C)Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and ^(D)Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, ¹⁴Mishma, Dumah, Massa, ¹⁵Hadad, ^(E)Tema, ^(F)Jetur, ^(G)Naphish, and Kedemah. ¹⁶These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages and by their encampments, ^(H)twelve princes according to their tribes. ¹⁷(These are the years of the life of Ishmael: 137 years. He ^(I)breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.) ¹⁸^(J)They settled from Havilah to ^(K)Shur, which is opposite Egypt in the direction of Assyria. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, ^(F)that you may be tested, and for ^(G)ten days ^(H)you will have tribulation. ^(I)Be faithful ^(J)unto death, and I will give you ^(K)the crown of life. ¹¹^(L)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ^(M)The one who conquers will not be hurt by ^(N)the second death.’
