Great Is Your Steadfast Love

(A)A Prayer of David.

86 (B)Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me,
    for I am (C)poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am (D)godly;
    save your servant, who (E)trusts in you—you are my God.
(F)Be gracious to me, O Lord,
    for to you do I cry all the day.
Gladden the soul of your servant,
    for (G)to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For you, O Lord, are good and (H)forgiving,
    (I)abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
(J)Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
    listen to my plea for grace.
In (K)the day of my trouble I call upon you,
    (L)for you answer me.

There is (M)none like you among the gods, O Lord,
    (N)nor are there any works like yours.
(O)All the nations you have made shall come
    and worship before you, O Lord,
    and shall glorify your name.
10 For (P)you are great and (Q)do wondrous things;
    (R)you alone are God.

speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God:

(A)“Behold, I am against you,
    Pharaoh king of Egypt,
(B)the great dragon that lies
    in the midst of his streams,
(C)that says, ‘My Nile is my own;
    I made it for myself.’
I will (D)put hooks in your jaws,
    and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales;
and I will draw you up out of the midst of your streams,
    with all the fish of your streams
    that stick to your scales.
(E)And I will cast you out into the wilderness,
    you and all the fish of your streams;
you shall fall (F)on the open field,
    and (G)not be brought together or gathered.
To the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens
    (H)I give you as food.

Then all the inhabitants of Egypt (I)shall know that I am the Lord.

“Because you[a] have been (J)a staff of reed to the house of Israel, (K)when they grasped you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins to shake.[b]

53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things, 54 (A)lying in wait for him, (B)to catch him in something he might say.

Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees

12 In the meantime, (C)when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, (D)“Beware of (E)the leaven of the Pharisees, (F)which is hypocrisy. (G)Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in (H)private rooms shall be proclaimed on (I)the housetops.
