Psalm 85

Prayer for the Restoration of God’s Favor
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
85 Lord, thou wast favorable to thy land;
thou didst restore the fortunes of Jacob.
2 Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people;
thou didst pardon all their sin. Selah
3 Thou didst withdraw all thy wrath;
thou didst turn from thy hot anger.
4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
and put away thy indignation toward us!
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever?
Wilt thou prolong thy anger to all generations?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again,
that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Show us thy steadfast love, O Lord,
and grant us thy salvation.
8 Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
for he will speak peace to his people,
to his saints, to those who turn to him in their hearts.[a]
9 Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him,
that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet;
righteousness and peace will kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness will spring up from the ground,
and righteousness will look down from the sky.
12 Yea, the Lord will give what is good,
and our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before him,
and make his footsteps a way.

2 Señor, has sido misericordioso con tu tierra,
has cambiado la suerte de Jacob;
3 has perdonado la falta de tu pueblo,
has ocultado todos sus pecados; [ Pausa]
4 has contenido toda tu furia,
has calmado el ardor de tu ira.
5 Dios, salvador nuestro, renuévanos,
¡aparta tu cólera de nosotros!
6 ¿Seguirás siempre enfadado?
¿Durará tu ira por generaciones?
7 ¿No volverás a darnos la vida
para que tu pueblo en ti se goce?
8 Señor, muéstranos tu amor,
danos tu salvación.
9 Voy a escuchar lo que Dios dice:
el Señor habla de paz
a su pueblo y a sus fieles,
¡que no vuelvan a ser necios!
10 Su salvación está cerca de quien lo venera,
la gloria va a morar en nuestra tierra.
11 El amor y la verdad se han encontrado,
la justicia y la paz se abrazan.
12 La verdad brota de la tierra,
la justicia surge del cielo.
13 El Señor traerá prosperidad
y nuestra tierra dará su cosecha.
14 La justicia caminará ante él,
sus pasos trazarán el camino.

Prayer that the Lord Will Restore Favor to the Land
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm (A)of the sons of Korah.
85 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have (B)brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
3 You have taken away all Your wrath;
You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
4 (C)Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your anger toward us to cease.
5 (D)Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
6 Will You not (E)revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints;
But let them not turn back to [a]folly.
9 Surely (F)His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
(G)That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth have met together;
(H)Righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 (I)Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.
