⁴ Return to us, God of our salvation,
and abandon your displeasure with us.^(E)
5 Will you be angry with us forever?
Will you prolong your anger for all generations?^(F)
6 Will you not revive us again
so that your people may rejoice in you?^(G)
7 Show us your faithful love, Lord,
and give us your salvation.^(H)

⁸ I will listen to what God will say;
surely the Lord will declare peace
to his people, his faithful ones,
and not let them go back to foolish ways.^(I)
9 His salvation is very near those who fear him,
so that glory may dwell in our land.^(J)

¹⁰ Faithful love and truth will join together;
righteousness and peace will embrace.^(K)
11 Truth will spring up from the earth,
and righteousness will look down from heaven.^(L)
12 Also, the Lord will provide what is good,
and our land will yield its crops.^(M)
13 Righteousness will go before him
to prepare the way for his steps.^(N)

²¹ The one who pursues righteousness and faithful love
will find life, righteousness, and honor.^(A)

²² A wise person went up against a city of warriors
and brought down its secure fortress.^(B)

³ No foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord
should say,
“The Lord will exclude me from his people,”^(D)
and the eunuch should not say,
“Look, I am a dried-up tree.”^(E)
4 For the Lord says this:
“For the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,
and choose what pleases me,
and hold firmly to my covenant,
⁵ I will give them, in my house and within my walls,
a memorial and a name
better than sons and daughters.
I will give each of them an everlasting name
that will never be cut off.^(F)
6 As for the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord
to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
and to become his servants—
all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it
and who hold firmly to my covenant—
⁷ I will bring them to my holy mountain^(G)
and let them rejoice in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be acceptable on my altar,^(H)
for my house will be called a house of prayer
for all nations.”^(I)
8 This is the declaration of the Lord God,
who gathers the dispersed of Israel:
“I will gather to them still others
besides those already gathered.”^(J)
