Die Krone der Schöpfung
8 Ein Lied von David, zum Spiel auf der Gittit[a].
2 Herr, unser Herrscher!
Die ganze Welt spiegelt deine Herrlichkeit wider,
der Himmel ist Zeichen deiner Hoheit und Macht.
3 Aus dem Mund der Kinder und Säuglinge lässt du dein Lob erklingen[b].
Es ist stärker als das Fluchen deiner Feinde.
Erlahmen muss da ihre Rachsucht, beschämt müssen sie verstummen.
4 Ich blicke zum Himmel und sehe, was deine Hände geschaffen haben:
den Mond und die Sterne – allen hast du ihren Platz zugewiesen.
5 Was ist da schon der Mensch, dass du an ihn denkst?
Wie klein und unbedeutend ist er,
und doch kümmerst du dich um ihn.[c]
6 Du hast ihn nur wenig geringer gemacht als die Engel[d],
ja, mit Ruhm und Ehre hast du ihn gekrönt.
7 Du hast ihm den Auftrag gegeben,
über deine Geschöpfe zu herrschen.
Alles hast du ihm zu Füßen gelegt:
8 die Schafe und Rinder,
die wilden Tiere,
9 die Vögel am Himmel, die Fische im Wasser
und alles, was die Meere durchzieht.
10 Herr, unser Herrscher!
Die ganze Welt spiegelt deine Herrlichkeit wider.

神的威严，人的尊贵
大卫的诗，交给诗班长，用“迦特”的乐器。
8 耶和华我们的主啊！
你的名在全地是多么威严，
你把你的荣美彰显在天上。
2 因你仇敌的缘故，
你从小孩和婴儿的口中，
得着了赞美（“得着了赞美”或译：“建立了能力”），
使仇敌和报仇的无话可说。
3 我观看你手所造的天，
和你所安放的月亮和星星。
4 啊！人算甚么，你竟记念他？
世人算甚么，你竟眷顾他？
5 你使他比天使（“天使”或译：“ 神”）低微一点，
却赐给他荣耀尊贵作冠冕。
6 你叫他管理你手所造的，
把万物都放在他的脚下，
7 就是所有的牛羊、
田间的走兽、
8 空中的飞鸟、海里的鱼，
和海里游行的水族。
9 耶和华我们的主啊！

1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name(A) in all the earth!
You have set your glory(B)
in the heavens.(C)
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold(D) against your enemies,
to silence the foe(E) and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,(F)
the work of your fingers,(G)
the moon and the stars,(H)
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c](I)
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e](J)
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.(K)
6 You made them rulers(L) over the works of your hands;(M)
you put everything under their[g] feet:(N)
7 all flocks and herds,(O)
and the animals of the wild,(P)
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,(Q)
all that swim the paths of the seas.
