59 When God heard them, He [a]was filled with (A)wrath
And He utterly (B)rejected Israel;
60 So that He (C)abandoned the (D)dwelling place at Shiloh,
The tent [b]which He had pitched among people,
61 And He gave up His (E)strength to captivity
And His glory (F)into the hand of the enemy.
62 He also (G)turned His people over to the sword,
And [c]was filled with wrath at His inheritance.
63 (H)Fire devoured [d]His young men,
And [e]His (I)virgins had no wedding songs.
64 [f]His (J)priests fell by the sword,
And [g]His (K)widows could not weep.

65 Then the Lord (L)awoke as if from sleep,
Like a (M)warrior [h]overcome by wine.
