Psalm 72
New International Version
Psalm 72
Of Solomon.
1 Endow the king with your justice,(A) O God,
the royal son with your righteousness.
2 May he judge your people in righteousness,(B)
your afflicted ones with justice.
3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4 May he defend the afflicted(C) among the people
and save the children of the needy;(D)
may he crush the oppressor.(E)
5 May he endure[a](F) as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.(G)
6 May he be like rain(H) falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
7 In his days may the righteous flourish(I)
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8 May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River[b](J) to the ends of the earth.(K)
9 May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
10 May the kings of Tarshish(L) and of distant shores(M)
bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba(N) and Seba
present him gifts.(O)
11 May all kings bow down(P) to him
and all nations serve(Q) him.
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity(R) on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue(S) them from oppression and violence,
for precious(T) is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba(U) be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.(V)
16 May grain(W) abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops(X) flourish like Lebanon(Y)
and thrive[c] like the grass of the field.(Z)
17 May his name endure forever;(AA)
may it continue as long as the sun.(AB)
18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,(AD)
who alone does marvelous deeds.(AE)
19 Praise be to his glorious name(AF) forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.(AG)

El reinado de un rey justo
Para Salomón.
72 ¡Concédele, oh Dios, al rey juzgar como tú,
y concédele al hijo del rey tu justicia!
2 ¡Concédele juzgar a tu pueblo con justicia,
y con buen juicio a los afligidos de tu pueblo!
3 ¡Que los montes brinden paz al pueblo,
y las colinas ofrezcan justicia!
4 Así el rey juzgará a los afligidos del pueblo,
salvará a los hijos de los menesterosos,
y aplastará a los opresores.
5 Tu pueblo te temerá de generación en generación
mientras el sol y la luna existan.
6 Que sea el rey como la lluvia que cae sobre la hierba,
y como el rocío que empapa la tierra
7 Que haya en sus días justicia y mucha paz,
hasta que la luna deje de existir.
8 Que su dominio se extienda de mar a mar,
desde el gran río hasta los límites de la tierra.(A)
9 Que ante él se rindan los habitantes del desierto,
y que sus enemigos muerdan el polvo.
10 Que los reyes de Tarsis y de las costas le paguen tributo,
y que los reyes de Sabá y de Sebá le ofrezcan regalos.
11 Que todos los reyes se inclinen en su presencia,
y que todas las naciones le sirvan.
12 Que salve el rey al pobre que le pida ayuda,
y al afligido que no tenga quien le socorra.
13 Que se compadezca del pobre y del menesteroso,
y que les salve la vida a los pobres.
14 Que los salve del engaño y de la violencia,
y que la sangre de ellos sea a sus ojos muy valiosa.
15 ¡Que viva el rey! ¡Que reciba el oro de Sabá!
¡Que se ore por él siempre!
¡Que a todas horas se le bendiga!
16 ¡Que sea en las cumbres de los montes
como un puñado de grano que cae en la tierra!
¡Que sea tan productivo como el monte Líbano,
y que en la ciudad haya tanta gente
como hierba hay en el campo!
17 ¡Que su nombre sea siempre recordado!
¡Que su nombre permanezca mientras el sol exista!
¡Que todas las naciones sean bendecidas por él,
y que lo llamen bienaventurado!
18 ¡Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel!
¡Sólo el Señor hace maravillas!
19 ¡Bendito sea por siempre su glorioso nombre!
¡Que toda la tierra sea llena de su gloria!

Glory and Universality of the Messiah’s Reign
A Psalm (A)of Solomon.
72 Give the king Your judgments, O God,
And Your righteousness to the king’s Son.
2 (B)He will judge Your people with righteousness,
And Your poor with justice.
3 (C)The mountains will bring peace to the people,
And the little hills, by righteousness.
4 (D)He will bring justice to the poor of the people;
He will save the children of the needy,
And will [a]break in pieces the oppressor.
5 [b]They shall fear You
(E)As long as the sun and moon endure,
Throughout all generations.
6 (F)He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing,
Like showers that water the earth.
7 In His days the righteous shall flourish,
(G)And abundance of peace,
Until the moon is no more.
8 (H)He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,
And from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 (I)Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him,
(J)And His enemies will lick the dust.
10 (K)The kings of Tarshish and of the isles
Will bring presents;
The kings of Sheba and Seba
Will offer gifts.
11 (L)Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him;
All nations shall serve Him.
12 For He (M)will deliver the needy when he cries,
The poor also, and him who has no helper.
13 He will spare the poor and needy,
And will save the souls of the needy.
14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence;
And (N)precious shall be their blood in His sight.
15 And He shall live;
And the gold of (O)Sheba will be given to Him;
Prayer also will be made for Him continually,
And daily He shall be praised.
16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth,
On the top of the mountains;
Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon;
(P)And those of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 (Q)His name shall endure forever;
His name shall continue as long as the sun.
And (R)men shall be blessed in Him;
(S)All nations shall call Him blessed.
18 (T)Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
(U)Who only does wondrous things!
19 And (V)blessed be His glorious name forever!
(W)And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
