Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies
To the leader. Of David, for the memorial offering.
1 Be pleased, O God, to deliver me.
O Lord, make haste to help me!(A)
2 Let those be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life.
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who desire to hurt me.(B)
3 Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!”
turn back because of their shame.(C)
4 Let all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
5 But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!(D)

1 Hasten, O God, to save me;
come quickly, Lord, to help me.(B)
2 May those who want to take my life(C)
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.(D)
3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”(E)
turn back because of their shame.
4 But may all who seek you(F)
rejoice and be glad(G) in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”(H)

Herre, skynda till min hjälp!
3 (B) Låt dem som vill ta mitt liv
få skam och vanära,
låt dem som önskar mig olycka
vika tillbaka och blygas.
4 Låt dem vända om i sin skam,
de som säger: "Haha!"
5 Låt alla som söker dig
få jubla och glädjas i dig,
låt dem som älskar din frälsning
alltid få säga: "Gud är stor!"
6 (C) Men jag är svag och fattig.
Gud, skynda till mig!
Du är min hjälp och min befriare.

Who seek my life;

Who desire my hurt.

Who say, [b]“Aha, aha!”
4 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
And let those who love Your salvation say continually,
“Let God be magnified!”
