Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies
To the leader. Of David, for the memorial offering.
1 Be pleased, O God, to deliver me.
O Lord, make haste to help me!(A)
2 Let those be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life.
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who desire to hurt me.(B)
3 Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!”
turn back because of their shame.(C)
4 Let all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
5 But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!(D)

2 Siano svergognati e confusi quelli che cercano la mia vita, voltino le spalle e siano coperti di vergogna quelli che desiderano il mio male.
3 Voltino le spalle a motivo della loro vergogna quelli che dicono: «Ah, ah!».
4 Si rallegrino e gioiscano in te tutti quelli che ti cercano, e quelli che amano la tua salvezza dicano del continuo: «Sia magnificato DIO!».
5 Ma io sono povero e bisognoso, o DIO, affrettati a venire in mio aiuto, tu sei il mio aiuto e il mio liberatore o Eterno, non tardare.

come quickly, Lord, to help me.(B)

be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.(D)
3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”(E)
turn back because of their shame.
4 But may all who seek you(F)
rejoice and be glad(G) in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”(H)
