Prayer and Praise for Deliverance from Enemies
A (A)Meditation[a] of David, which he sang to the Lord (B)concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.
7 O Lord my God, in You I put my trust;
(C)Save me from all those who persecute me;
And deliver me,
2 (D)Lest they tear me like a lion,
(E)Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 O Lord my God, (F)if I have done this:
If there is (G)iniquity in my hands,
4 If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me,
Or (H)have plundered my enemy without cause,
5 Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;
Yes, let him trample my life to the earth,
And lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6 Arise, O Lord, in Your anger;
(I)Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies;
(J)Rise up [b]for me to the judgment You have commanded!
7 So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You;
For their sakes, therefore, return on high.
8 The Lord shall judge the peoples;
(K)Judge me, O Lord, (L)according to my righteousness,
And according to my integrity within me.
9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
But establish the just;
(M)For the righteous God tests the hearts and [c]minds.
10 [d]My defense is of God,
Who saves the (N)upright in heart.
11 God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he does not turn back,
He will (O)sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
14 (P)Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity;
Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit and dug it out,
(Q)And has fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 (R)His trouble shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down on [e]his own crown.
17 I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness,
And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

In You Do I Take Refuge
A (A)Shiggaion[a] of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning the words of Cush, a Benjaminite.
7 O Lord my God, in you do I (B)take refuge;
(C)save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,
2 lest like (D)a lion they tear my soul apart,
rending it in pieces, with (E)none to deliver.
3 O Lord my God, (F)if I have done this,
if there is (G)wrong in my hands,
4 if I have repaid (H)my friend[b] with evil
or (I)plundered my enemy without cause,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it,
and let him (J)trample my life to the ground
and lay my glory in the dust. Selah
6 (K)Arise, O Lord, in your anger;
(L)lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies;
(M)awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.
7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you;
over it return on high.
8 The Lord (N)judges the peoples;
(O)judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness
and according to the integrity that is in me.
9 Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
and may you establish the righteous—
you who (P)test (Q)the minds and hearts,[c]
O righteous God!
10 My shield is (R)with God,
who saves (S)the upright in heart.
11 God is (T)a righteous judge,
and a God who feels (U)indignation every day.
12 If a man[d] does not repent, God[e] will (V)whet his sword;
he has (W)bent and (X)readied his bow;
13 he has prepared for him his deadly weapons,
making his (Y)arrows (Z)fiery shafts.
14 Behold, the wicked man (AA)conceives evil
and is (AB)pregnant with mischief
and gives birth to lies.
15 He makes (AC)a pit, digging it out,
and falls into the hole that he has made.
16 His (AD)mischief returns upon his own head,
and on his own skull his violence descends.
17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,
and I will (AE)sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.

7 (Die Unschuld Davids, davon er sang dem HERRN von wegen der Worte des Chus, des Benjaminiten.) Auf dich, HERR, traue ich, mein Gott. Hilf mir von allen meinen Verfolgern und errette mich,
2 daß sie nicht wie Löwen meine Seele erhaschen und zerreißen, weil kein Erretter da ist.
3 HERR, mein Gott, habe ich solches getan und ist Unrecht in meinen Händen;
4 habe ich Böses vergolten denen, so friedlich mit mir lebten, oder die, so mir ohne Ursache feind waren, beschädigt:
5 so verfolge mein Feind meine Seele und ergreife sie und trete mein Leben zu Boden und lege meine Ehre in den Staub. (Sela.)
6 Stehe auf, HERR, in deinem Zorn, erhebe dich über den Grimm meiner Feinde und wache auf zu mir, der du Gericht verordnet hast,
7 daß sich die Völker um dich sammeln; und über ihnen kehre wieder zur Höhe.
8 Der HERR ist Richter über die Völker. Richte mich, HERR, nach deiner Gerechtigkeit und Frömmigkeit!
9 Laß der Gottlosen Bosheit ein Ende werden und fördere die Gerechten; denn du prüfst Herzen und Nieren.
10 Mein Schild ist bei Gott, der den frommen Herzen hilft.
11 Gott ist ein rechter Richter und ein Gott, der täglich droht.
12 Will man sich nicht bekehren, so hat er sein Schwert gewetzt und seinen Bogen gespannt und zielt
13 und hat darauf gelegt tödliche Geschosse; seine Pfeile hat er zugerichtet, zu verderben.
14 Siehe, der hat Böses im Sinn; mit Unglück ist er schwanger und wird Lüge gebären.
15 Er hat eine Grube gegraben und ausgehöhlt und ist in die Grube gefallen, die er gemacht hat,
16 Sein Unglück wird auf seinen Kopf kommen und sein Frevel auf seinen Scheitel fallen.
17 Ich danke dem HERRN um seiner Gerechtigkeit willen und will loben den Namen des HERRN, des Allerhöchsten.
