68 To victory, the psalm of the song of David. God rise up, and his enemies be scattered; and they that hate him, flee from his face. (May God rise up, and his enemies be scattered; and they who hate him, flee from his face.)
2 As smoke faileth, fail they; as wax floateth (away) from the face of fire, so perish [the] sinners from the face of God. (Like smoke vanisheth, so let them vanish; like wax melteth in the fire, so let the sinners perish in the presence of God.)
3 And just men eat, and make they fully joy in the sight of God; and delight they in gladness. (But the righteous be glad, and make full out joy, or rejoice, before God; yea, delight they, and be glad.)
4 Sing ye to God, say ye psalm to his name; make ye [a] way to him, that ascendeth on the going down, the Lord is name of him. Make ye fully joy in his sight, (his) enemies shall be troubled from the face of him, (Sing ye to God, sing ye a song to his name; make ye a way for him, who rideth over the plains of the desert/who rideth upon the clouds, yea, the Lord is his name. Make ye full out joy, or rejoice, before him, but his enemies shall be troubled before him,)
5 which is the father of fatherless and motherless children; and the judge of widows (who is the father of the fatherless and the motherless; and the judge of widows). God is in his holy place;
6 God that maketh men of one will to dwell in the house. Which leadeth out by strength them that be bound; in like manner them that make sharp, that dwell in sepulchres. (yea, God who helpeth people to come and live in a house with others. And who leadeth out those who be bound into freedom; but they who rebel shall live in a dry land.)
7 God, when thou wentest out in the sight of thy people; when thou passedest forth in the desert. (God, when thou wentest out before thy people; yea, when thou wentest forth in the wilderness,)
8 The earth was moved, for heavens dropped down from the face of God of Sinai; from the face of God of Israel. (the earth shook, and the heavens dropped down rain/and the heavens quaked, before the God of Sinai; yea, before the God of Israel.)
9 God, thou shalt (im)part willful rain to thine heritage, and it was sick; but thou madest it perfect. (God, thou imparted abundant rain upon the land of thy inheritance; it was enfeebled, or dry, but thou madest it perfect.)
10 Thy beasts shall dwell therein; God, thou hast made ready in thy sweetness to the poor man. (And thy people shall live there; God, in thy goodness, thou hast prepared it for the poor.)
11 The Lord shall give a word; to them that preach the gospel with much virtue. (The Lord gave the word; and many women preached this good news.)
12 The kings of virtues be made loved of the darling; and to the fairness of the house to part spoils. (The kings and their hosts, or their armies, fled away; and she of the house parted the spoils.)
13 If ye sleep among the midst of sorts, either heritages, (yet ye shall be as) the feathers of the culver (that) be (covered) of silver; and the hinder things of the back thereof be in the shining of gold. (Though ye have slept among the pots, yet ye shall be like the wings of the dove that be covered with silver; and the feathers on its back that be covered with shining gold.)
14 While the king of heaven deemeth kings thereon, they shall be made whiter than snow in Salmon; (When the King of heaven scattered the kings there; they fell like the snow in Salmon.)
15 the hill of God is a fat hill. The crudded hill is a fat hill; (The hill of God is like Mount Bashan; yea, the curdled hill is like Mount Bashan, with many peaks.)
16 whereto believe ye falsely, (ye) crudded hills? The hill in which it pleaseth well God to dwell therein; for the Lord shall dwell (there) into the end. (But why, ye curdled hills, gaze ye with envy at the hill where it well pleaseth God to live? for the Lord shall live there forever!)
17 The chariot of God is manyfold with ten thousand, a thousand of them that be glad; the Lord was in them, in Sinai, in the holy (place). (The chariots of God be twice ten thousand, yea, many thousands; the Lord came with them, from Sinai, to the holy place.)
18 Thou ascendedest on high, thou tookest captivity (captive); thou receivedest gifts among men. For why thou tookest (also from) them that believed not; for to dwell in the Lord God. (Thou ascendedest on high, thou tookest the captivity captive; thou receivedest gifts, or tribute, from people. But thou also receivedest gifts from those who believed not/from those who were rebellious; so that the Lord God might live among them.)
19 Blessed be the Lord each day; the God of our healths shall make an easy way to us. (Blessed be the Lord; each day the God of our salvation shall make our way easier for us.)
20 Our God is God to make men safe; and out-going from death is of the Lord God. (Our God is the God who saveth people; and our escape from death is by the Lord God.)
21 Nevertheless God shall break the heads of his enemies; the top of the hair of them that go in their trespasses. (But God shall break the heads of his enemies; yea, the top of their hair who go in their trespasses.)
22 The Lord said, I shall turn (again) from Bashan; I shall turn (again) into the depth of the sea. (The Lord said, I shall return from Bashan; I shall return from the depths of the sea./The Lord said, I shall bring back my people from Bashan; I shall bring them back from the depths of the sea.)
23 That thy foot be dipped in blood; the tongue of thy dogs be dipped in (the) blood of the enemies of him. (So that thy feet can be dipped in the blood of thy enemies; and so that the tongues of thy dogs can also be dipped in their blood.)
24 God, they saw thy goings in; the goings in of my God, of my king, which is in the holy (place). (God, they saw thy procession; yea, the procession of my God, of my King, who is in the holy place, or in the sanctuary.)
25 Princes joined with singers came before; in the middle/in the midst of young damsels singing in tympans. (First came the singers; then the players of the instruments, and after them the young women, singing with tympans/playing tambourines.)
26 In churches bless ye God; bless ye the Lord from the wells of Israel. (Bless ye God in the congregations; bless the Lord all ye tribes of Israel.)
27 There (is) Benjamin, a young man; in the ravishing of mind. The princes of Judah were the dukes of them; the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali. (There is Benjamin, the smallest tribe, in the lead. Then the leaders of Judah with their company, and the leaders of Zebulun, and the leaders of Naphtali.)
28 God, command thou to thy virtue; God, confirm thou this thing, which thou hast wrought in us. (God, command thou to thy strength, or thy power; God, show thy strength, in what thou has wrought for us.)
29 From thy temple, which is in Jerusalem; kings shall offer gifts to thee. (For thy Temple, which is in Jerusalem, kings shall offer gifts to thee.)
30 Blame thou the wild beasts of the reed, the gathering together of bulls is among the kine of peoples; that they exclude them that be proved by silver. Destroy thou folks that will battles, (Rebuke thou the wild beasts of the reeds, that gathering together of bulls, that herd of peoples; until they all bow low, and offer thee their silver. Yea, destroy thou the nations that delight in battles.)
31 legates shall come from Egypt; Ethiopia shall come before the hands thereof to God. (Ambassadors shall come from Egypt; Ethiopia shall raise up her hands to God.)
32 Realms of the earth, sing ye to God; say ye psalm to the Lord. Sing ye to God; (Kingdoms of the earth, sing ye to God; sing ye a song to the Lord. Sing ye to God;)
33 that ascended on the heaven of heaven at the east. Lo! he shall give to his voice the voice of virtue, (who rideth upon the heavens of the heavens, from the old days. Lo! he sendeth out his voice, a strong voice.)
34 give ye glory to God on Israel; his great doing and his virtue is in the clouds. (Tell ye out the strength of God; yea, his glory, or his majesty, is over Israel, and his power, or his might, is in the heavens.)
35 God is wonderful in his saints; God of Israel, he shall give virtue, and strength, to his people; blessed be God. (God is wonderful as he cometh from his sanctuary; the God of Israel, he shall give power, and strength, to his people; blessed be God.)

Gud triumferar
1-2 Res dig, Gud, och skingra alla dina fiender! Jaga bort dem!
3 Driv bort dem, liksom rök förs bort av vinden! Smält dem som vax i eld! Låt de ogudaktiga utplånas inför dina ögon.
4 Men den gudfruktige kan glädja sig! Hans glädje känner inga gränser!
5 Sjung en lovsång till Herren! Stäm upp en sång till honom som rider på molnen! Herren är hans namn! Gläd dig inför honom!
6 Han är en far för de föräldralösa, och han försvarar änkor, för han är helig.
7 De ensamma ger han ett hem, och fångarna för han ut i frihet. Därför sjunger de av glädje! Men för dem som gör uppror väntar bara hungersnöd och svåra tider.
8 Gud, när du drog ut i spetsen för ditt folk och marscherade med det genom öknen
9 då darrade jorden, och från himlen strömmade regnet ner. Berget Sinai bävade inför dig, Israels Gud.
10-11 Du sände regn i överflöd, Gud, för att det uttorkade landet skulle blomstra igen! Ditt folk, som inte hade någonstans att bo, bor nu där. Av godhet gav du dem detta hem när de var utfattiga.
12-14 Herren ger sina befallningar och fienderna flyr. Kvinnorna där hemma ropar ut de glada nyheterna: Arméerna som kom för att förgöra oss har flytt! Och nu delar alla Israels kvinnor på bytet. Se hur de glittrar och glänser i sina juveler av guld och silver! De är alldeles övertäckta, precis som duvorna täcks av sina vingar!
15 När Gud, den Allsmäktige skingrade sina fiender, då var marken täckt av krigsbyte, precis som när snön täcker Salomos berg.
16-17 Mäktigt reser sig bergen i Basan! Ståtliga bergskedjor med många toppar! Varför ser ni ner på Sions berg med avundsjuka, det berg där Gud har valt att bo i evighet.
18 Med så många vagnar att man inte kan räkna dem, kommer Herren från Sinai och drar in i sitt heliga tempel på Sions berg.
19 Han går upp för höjderna och tar fångar med sig i triumftåg. Han får gåvor av människor, till och med av dem som gjort uppror mot honom. För alltid ska han bo där.
20 Vilken underbar Herre han är! Dag efter dag bär han våra bördor och han ger oss vår frälsning.
21 Om vi är i nöd griper han in. Han räddar oss från döden.
22 Men sina fiender kommer han att krossa, för de är envisa och vägrar att sluta med sina illdåd.
23 Herren säger till sitt folks fiender: Kom hit, även ni som gömmer er på berget Hermons branta sluttningar eller djupt nere i havet!
24 Herrens folk ska förgöra dem och vada i deras blod, och hundarna kommer att få slicka i sig så mycket de orkar.
25 O Gud, min kung, alla ser när ditt triumftåg drar fram mot helgedomen.
26 Sångarna går först, och framför musikanterna går flickor som spelar på tamburiner.
27 Prisa Herren hela Israels folk, han som ger er liv!
28 Först går Benjamins lilla stam, följd av ledarna och de äldste i Juda, och därefter kommer ledarna för Sebulon och Naftali.
29 Visa din makt, Gud! Visa din styrka som du gjort förut för oss!
30 Ditt tempel reser sig över Jerusalem, och dit kommer kungarna med sina gåvor.
31 Sätt skräck i Egypten, odjuret vid Nilen. Ta itu med makthavarna och deras folk. Slå dem till marken, alla dem som tar krigsbyte och älskar kriget.
32 Från Egypten ska sändebud komma, och Etiopien ska skynda sig att sträcka ut sina händer till Gud i tillbedjan.
33 Sjung till Herren, alla riken på jorden! Sjung lovsånger till Herren,
34 till honom som rider på de uråldriga himlarna, och vars mäktiga stämma dundrar från skyn.
35 Makten tillhör Gud! Hans härlighet vilar över Israel, och hans styrka är väldig i himlen.
36 Vilken vördnad vi känner när vi böjer oss inför honom i helgedomen! Israels Gud ger styrka och makt åt sitt folk. Lovad vare Gud!

68 För sångmästaren; av David; en psalm, en sång.
2 Gud står upp; hans fiender varda förskingrade, och de som hata honom fly för hans ansikte.
3 Såsom rök fördrives, så fördrivas de av dig; likasom vaxet smälter för eld, så förgås de ogudaktiga för Guds ansikte.
4 Men de rättfärdiga äro glada, de fröjda sig inför Gud och jubla i glädje.
5 Sjungen till Guds ära, lovsägen hans namn. Gören väg för honom som drager fram genom öknarna. Hans namn är HERREN, fröjdens inför honom;
6 de faderlösas fader och änkors försvarare, Gud i sin heliga boning,
7 en Gud som förhjälper de ensamma till ett hem, och som för de fångna ut till lycka; allenast de gensträviga måste bo i en öken.
8 Gud, när du drog ut i spetsen för ditt folk, när du gick fram i ödemarken, Sela,
9 då bävade jorden, då utgöt himmelen sina flöden inför Guds ansikte; ja, Sinai bävade för Guds ansikte; Israels Guds.
10 Ett nåderikt regn lät du falla, o Gud; ditt arvland, som försmäktade, vederkvickte du.
11 Din skara fick bo däri; genom din godhet beredde du det åt de betryckta, o Gud.
12 Herren låter höra sitt ord, stor är skaran av kvinnor som båda glädje:
13 »Härskarornas konungar fly, de fly, och husmodern därhemma får utskifta byte.
14 Viljen I då ligga stilla inom edra hägnader? Duvans vingar äro höljda i silver, och hennes fjädrar skimra av guld.
15 När den Allsmäktige förströr konungarna i landet, faller snö på Salmon.»
16 Ett Guds berg är Basans berg, ett högtoppigt berg är Basans berg.
17 Men varför sen I så avogt, I höga berg, på det berg som Gud har utkorat till sitt säte, det där ock HERREN skall bo för alltid?
18 Guds vagnar äro tiotusenden, tusen och åter tusen; Herren drog fram med dem, Sinai är nu i helgedomen.
19 Du for upp i höjden, du tog fångar, du undfick gåvor bland människorna, ja, också de gensträviga skola bo hos HERREN Gud.
20 Lovad vare Herren! Dag efter dag bär han oss; Gud är vår frälsning. Sela.
21 Gud är för oss en Gud som frälsar, och hos HERREN, Herren finnes räddning från döden.
22 Men Gud sönderkrossar sina fienders huvuden, krossar hjässan på den som går där med skuld.
23 Herren säger: »Från Basan skall jag hämta dem, från havets djup skall jag hämta dem upp,
24 så att du kan stampa med din fot i blod och låta dina hundars tunga få sin del av fienderna.»
25 Man ser, o Gud, ditt högtidståg, min Guds, min konungs, tåg inne i helgedomen.
26 Främst gå sångare, harpospelare följa efter, mitt ibland unga kvinnor som slå på pukor.
27 Lova Gud i församlingarna, loven Herren, I av Israels brunn.
28 Där går Benjamin, den yngste, han för dem an; där går skaran av Juda furstar, Sebulons furstar, Naftalis furstar.
29 Din Gud har beskärt dig makt; så håll nu vid makt, o Gud, vad du har gjort för oss.
30 I ditt tempel i Jerusalem bäre konungar fram sina skänker åt dig.
31 Näps odjuret i vassen, tjurarnas hop med deras kalvar, folken, må de ödmjukt hylla dig med sina silverstycken. Ja, han förströr de folk som finna behag i krig.
32 De mäktige skola komma hit från Egypten, Etiopien skall skynda hit till Gud, med gåvor i händerna.
33 I riken på jorden, sjungen till Guds ära; lovsägen Herren, Sela,
34 honom som far fram på urtidshimlarnas himmel. Ja, där låter han höra sin röst, en mäktig röst.
35 Given Gud makten; över Israel är hans härlighet, och hans makt är i skyarna.
36 Fruktansvärd är du, Gud, i din helgedom; Israels Gud, han giver makt och styrka åt sitt folk. Lovad vare Gud!

1 May God arise,(A) may his enemies be scattered;(B)
may his foes flee(C) before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—(D)
as wax melts(E) before the fire,
may the wicked perish(F) before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice(G) before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,(H)
extol him who rides on the clouds[b](I);
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.(J)
5 A father to the fatherless,(K) a defender of widows,(L)
is God in his holy dwelling.(M)
6 God sets the lonely(N) in families,[c](O)
he leads out the prisoners(P) with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.(Q)
7 When you, God, went out(R) before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,[d](S)
8 the earth shook,(T) the heavens poured down rain,(U)
before God, the One of Sinai,(V)
before God, the God of Israel.(W)
9 You gave abundant showers,(X) O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty,(Y) God, you provided(Z) for the poor.
11 The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:(AA)
12 “Kings and armies flee(AB) in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.(AC)
13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,[e](AD)
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Almighty[f] scattered(AE) the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.(AF)
15 Mount Bashan,(AG) majestic mountain,(AH)
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses(AI) to reign,
where the Lord himself will dwell forever?(AJ)
17 The chariots(AK) of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;(AL)
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.[g]
18 When you ascended(AM) on high,(AN)
you took many captives;(AO)
you received gifts from people,(AP)
even from[h] the rebellious(AQ)—
that you,[i] Lord God, might dwell there.
19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,(AR)
who daily bears our burdens.(AS)
20 Our God is a God who saves;(AT)
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.(AU)
21 Surely God will crush the heads(AV) of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,(AW)
23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,(AX)
while the tongues of your dogs(AY) have their share.”
24 Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.(AZ)
25 In front are the singers,(BA) after them the musicians;(BB)
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.(BC)
26 Praise God in the great congregation;(BD)
praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel.(BE)
27 There is the little tribe(BF) of Benjamin,(BG) leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.(BH)
28 Summon your power,(BI) God[j];
show us your strength,(BJ) our God, as you have done(BK) before.
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.(BL)
30 Rebuke the beast(BM) among the reeds,(BN)
the herd of bulls(BO) among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations(BP) who delight in war.(BQ)
31 Envoys will come from Egypt;(BR)
Cush[k](BS) will submit herself to God.
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,(BT)
sing praise(BU) to the Lord,
33 to him who rides(BV) across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders(BW) with mighty voice.(BX)
34 Proclaim the power(BY) of God,
whose majesty(BZ) is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome(CA) in your sanctuary;(CB)
the God of Israel gives power and strength(CC) to his people.(CD)
Praise be to God!(CE)
