Psalm 66
Common English Bible
Psalm 66
For the music leader. A song. A psalm.
66 Shout joyfully to God, all the earth!
2 Sing praises to the glory of God’s name!
Make glorious his praise!
3 Say to God:
“How awesome are your works!
Because of your great strength,
your enemies cringe before you.
4 All the earth worships you,
sings praises to you,
sings praises to your name!” Selah
5 Come and see God’s deeds;
his works for human beings are awesome:
6 He turned the sea into dry land
so they could cross the river on foot.
Right there we rejoiced in him!
7 God rules with power forever;
keeps a good eye on the nations.
So don’t let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
8 All you nations, bless our God!
Let the sound of his praise be heard!
9 God preserved us among the living;
he didn’t let our feet slip a bit.
10 But you, God, have tested us—
you’ve refined us like silver,
11 trapped us in a net,
laid burdens on our backs,
12 let other people run right over our heads—
we’ve been through fire and water.
But you brought us out to freedom!
13 So I’ll enter your house
with entirely burned offerings.
I’ll keep the promises I made to you,
14 the ones my lips uttered,
the ones my mouth spoke when I was in deep trouble.
15 I will offer the best burned offerings to you
along with the smoke of sacrificed rams.
I will offer both bulls and goats. Selah
16 Come close and listen,
all you who honor God;
I will tell you what God has done for me:
17 My mouth cried out to him
with praise on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished evil in my heart,
my Lord would not have listened.
19 But God definitely listened.
He heard the sound of my prayer.
20 Bless God! He didn’t reject my prayer;
he didn’t withhold his faithful love from me.

New King James Version
Praise to God for His Awesome Works
To the Chief Musician. A Song. A Psalm.
66 Make (A)a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
2 Sing out the honor of His name;
Make His praise glorious.
3 Say to God,
“How (B)awesome are Your works!
(C)Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
4 (D)All the earth shall worship You
And sing praises to You;
They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah
5 Come and see the works of God;
He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men.
6 (E)He turned the sea into dry land;
(F)They went through the river on foot.
There we will rejoice in Him.
7 He rules by His power forever;
His eyes observe the nations;
Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
8 Oh, bless our God, you peoples!
And make the voice of His praise to be heard,
9 Who keeps our soul among the living,
And does not allow our feet to [a]be moved.
10 For (G)You, O God, have tested us;
(H)You have refined us as silver is refined.
11 (I)You brought us into the net;
You laid affliction on our backs.
12 (J)You have caused men to ride over our heads;
(K)We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to [b]rich fulfillment.
13 (L)I will go into Your house with burnt offerings;
(M)I will pay You my [c]vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered
And my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer You burnt sacrifices of fat animals,
With the sweet aroma of rams;
I will offer bulls with goats. Selah
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was [d]extolled with my tongue.
18 (N)If I regard iniquity in my heart,
The Lord will not hear.
19 But certainly God (O)has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God,
Who has not turned away my prayer,
Nor His mercy from me!

Poziv svima da slave Boga
Voditelju zbora. Hvalospjev.
66 Svi na zemlji, Bogu radosno kličite!
2 U slavu njegovog imena pjevajte,
veličanstveno ga hvalite!
3 Recite Bogu:
»Kako su tvoja djela zastrašujuća!
Zbog tvoje velike moći,
u strahu ti se klanjaju neprijatelji.
4 Svi na zemlji tebe štuju,
psalme ti pjevaju,
hvalospjeve tvome imenu.« Selah
5 Dođite i vidite Božja djela:
čuda je učinio među ljudima.
6 More je pretvorio u suho tlo,
pješice su prošli kroz riječno korito.[a]
Zbog toga se sada radujemo.
7 Svojom silom on vlada zauvijek,
njegove oči narode promatraju,
neka se buntovnici ne podižu. Selah
8 Blagoslivljajte našeg Boga, narodi,
neka se čuju hvalospjevi!
9 Naše je duše sačuvao žive
i nije dao da nam se noga oklizne.
10 Ti si nas, Bože, provjerio,
pročistio nas kao u vatri srebro.
11 U mrežu si nas zapleo,
teret nam na leđa natovario.
12 Pustio si da nam jašu po glavi,
prošli smo i kroz vatru i kroz vodu,
ali si nas doveo na sigurno.
13 Sa žrtvama paljenicama u tvoj ću ući Hram,
izvršit ću što sam ti zavjetovao,
14 što sam usnama izgovorio
i ustima u nevolji obećao.
15 Prinijet ću ti paljenice od utovljenih životinja,
podići će se dim od ovnova loja,
prinijet ću ti žrtve od goveda i jaraca. Selah
16 Dođite i poslušajte, svi koji Boga štujete:
ispričat ću vam što je učinio za mene.
17 Glasno sam mu zavapio,
njega sam veličao.
18 Da sam u srcu čuvao grijeh,
Gospodar me ne bi me čuo.
19 Ali Bog me zaista čuo
i saslušao moju molitvu.
20 Neka je slavljen Bog
jer moju molitvu nije odbio
niti mi je svoju ljubav uskratio.
